The article states, "Only Cruzes built in Lordstown, Ohio, and sold in the United States and Canada and several hundred exported to Israel are affected."

And since, US / Canada are predominantly Petrol market, I would assume Indian Cruze owner have nothing to worry about.

BMW recalls X5, X6 over leaking power steering fluid!

Due to a potential manufacturing glitch, 2,642 examples of the 2012 and 2013 BMW X5 and 2013 BMW X6 are being recalled. The steering gear surface on said models might have been improperly machined, which could cause power steering fluid to leak onto the hot exhaust and cause a fire in the engine compartment

Toyota Motor Corp. said it will add two of its Lexus models to a recall it started in late 2009 to address the risk that a loose floor mat could force down the accelerator.

2012 Audi Q5 Models recalled!

Audi is recalling certain 2012 Q5 models for sunroof panels that may break in extremely cold temperatures. All told, 13,172 units manufactured between June 21, 2011 and December 9, 2011 are included in the campaign. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the breaking glass could injure the vehicle's occupants, increasing driver distraction and potentially causing an accident. It's unclear whether the defect has caused any injuries or crashes at this point.

Porsche recalls select 2012 Panamera, Cayenne models over turbo fracture!

A potentially defective turbine wheel in the turbochargers of 2011 and 2012 Porsche Panamera Turbo and Turbo S models and the 2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo has led to a recall. There are 270 units affected among the three models, with a casting defect being cited as the cause of the trouble. The issue could lead to a fracture in the turbocharger itself, which could then lead to follow-on problems, smoke and risk of fire.
Porsche is notifying owners this month, after whcih they can take their cars to their dealers for repair free of charge.

Ford recalls 1.6-liter Ford Escape, tells owners to stop driving

(Reuters) - Ford Motor Co told owners of the best-selling SUV in the United States on Thursday to stop driving 2013 model Ford Escape with 1.6-liter engines immediately due to the risk of an engine fire.

Ford recalled about 11,500 new 2013 model Ford Escape SUVs with 1.6-liter engines, of which about 4,800 were sold to customers in the U.S. and Canadian markets, the company said. Most of the rest are on dealer lots.

Only Ford Escape with 1.6-liter engines sold in the U.S. and Canadian markets are affected by the recall and fire risk, Ford said.

Mazda recalls 217,500 Tributes to repair throttle.

Mazda Motor Corp. is recalling 217,500 Tribute SUVs in the United States due to a problem with the throttle that could make it difficult to slow down a vehicle after a driver fully or nearly presses down the accelerator.

The recall affects vehicles made for the 2001 to 2006 and 2008 model years that were equipped with the 3-liter, V-6 engine and speed control.

Hyundai Motor Co. is recalling more than 200,000 units of the Santa Fe and Sonata in the United States due to problems with their airbags, a U.S. state safety agency said

In the US there has been a recall of Santa Fe and Sonata cars from 2007-2009 models as well as 2012-2013 ones. Concerns on deploying of safety bags in some and not deploying in others has prompted this recall. Does this affect India as well? Anyone owning either of these cars need to check with Hyundai accordingly - however I am guessing we already know the answer
