2018 Hyundai KONA recalled in Australia.

There are 4969 units affected by this recall, sold from 20 April 2018 through 11 September 2018

The Korean brand reports a manufacturing issue may have caused the front brake tube to have been fitted incorrectly, which could come into contact with the exhaust system.

Over time the brake line can be squashed or ruptured with prolonged contact, which Hyundai says will result in poor brake performance or even brake failure.

If the condition occurs, it can increase the risk of an accident.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) and Toyota have issued yet another recall for vehicles fitted with the malfunctioning Takata airbags. The defective airbags issue came to light in 2013 and manufacturers collaborated in 2014 to investigate the same. Takata has since declared bankruptcy.

FCA has issued a recall for 1.4 million vehicles for replacement of passenger side airbag inflators. Affected vehicles include 2010 Ram 3500 pickup and 4500/5500 chassis cabs, 2010-2011 Dodge Dakota, 2010-2014 Dodge Challenger, 2010-2015 Chrysler 300 sedan, 2010-2016 Jeep Wrangler and 2011-2015 Dodge Charger. The same type of vehicles in Canada (88,830), Mexico (12,821) and markets outside North America (118,084) will also be recalled.

Toyota has issued a recall for around 1.3 million cars in the USA. These include the 2010-2016 4Runner, 2010-2012 Lexus ES 350, 2010-2013 Corolla, Matrix and Lexus IS 250, 2010-2014 Lexus IS-F, 2010-2015 Scion XB, Lexus IS 250C, IS 350C, 2010-2017 Lexus GX 460 and 2011-2014 Sienna. The owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted and the local dealer will fix either the inflator for the front passenger airbag or replace the whole airbag assembly free of cost.

2018 –Europe's Most Recalled Cars!

A total of 288 passenger car recalls were added to the EU Rapex Rapid Alert System in 2018.

Mercedes-Benz (36) was the most recalled brand, followed by Volkswagen (25) and Peugeot (23). More than ten recalls were announced by Opel (20), Citroën (17), Toyota (14), Mitsubishi (14) and Ford (13). In 2018, 239 different models of 39 brands were recalled

Most of the recalled vehicles were in some way troubled by engine problems (142). A defect of the airbag or restraint system occurred in 73 models. The same number of cars (73) were at risk of fire. Defects on the suspension were reported in 40 recalled models and 12 of them had steering problems. It should be noted that the Rapex records only dangerous defects that compromise the crew’s safety and health.

The recall involves 32 Aventador S Coupe vehicles manufactured between June 10, 2017 and April 5, 2018, and 16 Aventador S Roadster vehicles made between Jan. 16, 2018 and April 16, 2018, the State Administration for Market Regulation said in a statement.

The vehicles may pose safety risks due to defective fuel tanks, according to the statement.

Volkswagen China has promises to replace the defective fuel tanks free of charge to ensure safety.

JLR recalls 44,000 cars over “excessive” CO2 emissions.

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is recalling more than 44,000 cars following news that 10 models may be emitting more CO2 than was initially recorded when they were certified.

According to the European Commission’s rapid alert system, a number of JLR models “may emit excessive levels of CO2 and may not conform with the certified condition”. The system gives a list of affected models, including the Jaguar XE, XF, E-Pace, F-Pace and F-Type, as well as the Land Rover Discovery, Discovery Sport and Range Rover Sport, Evoque and Velar.

Volkswagen recalls Vitus and Polo's in Brazil.

Recall involves 2018 and 2019 models. Failure to fix linings can affect side airbag operation.
The Volkswagen announced the recall of 114,523 units of Polo and Virtus in Brazil. According to the automaker, a failure to fix coatings can affect the operation of side airbags.


In the statement, the automaker claims that the possibility of failure to fix the lining of the central columns ("B") was found. Incorrect attachment of the casing may affect the operation of the side airbag in the event of a collision requiring the drive of this component.

The solution is to inspect the correct fixing of the central column liner ("B") and replace it, if necessary.

The service is free and the estimated time for repair is 20 minutes. If there is a need to replace the liner of the central columns, the service must be scheduled. The estimated replacement time is 1 hour.

According to the company, pressing the brake and accelerator at the same time could make the car enter 'limp home mode'. Although the engine doesn't cut out, engine and road speeds are restricted, increasing your risk of accident.

New recall of 80,000 Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda cars with DSG gearboxes – some for the second time in six years.

Nissan to recall over 3,60,000 vehicles for risk of fire.

Nissan and its luxury brand Infiniti are recalling over 360,000 vehicles to replace a faulty brake component that could cause a fire. Some of these vehicles were already recalled in September 2018. Even if a recalled vehicle was already inspected by a dealer and deemed to be safe then, it should be brought back to the dealer for a repair. Nissan says a faulty pump in the antilock braking system (ABS) could leak brake fluid and cause a fire.

When a leak occurs, Nissan says, the ABS warning lamp will illuminate on the dashboard for more than 10 seconds after the engine has been started. If this happens, the automaker advises that the driver park the vehicle outside and contact Nissan Roadside Assistance..

Toyota is recalling nearly 700,000 Toyota and Lexus vehicles in the US because of issues with the fuel pumps. The pumps can stop operating, the company said, leading to engine failure.

"If a vehicle stall occurs while driving at higher speeds, this could increase the risk of a crash," the company said.

Toyota says it's investigating the issue. When it comes up with a solution, it'll notify owners by mail by mid-March.

Daimler to recall almost 300,000 cars because of fire hazards.

Stuttgart: Daimler AG is recalling almost 300,000 cars from Mercedes-Benz worldwide because of fire hazards.

The news, first reported by German blogsite kfz-rueckrufe.de, was confirmed by Daimler spokesman Joerg Howe.

Certain E-Class and CLS models, all of them diesel cars built between 2015 and 2019, have been affected, said Howe.

Of the 298,000 vehicles affected worldwide, a good 105,000 are on the road in Germany, the blogsite reported citing Germany’s Federal Motor Transport Authority.

Kia recalls over 229,000 vehicles over possible fire risking problem

DETROIT: Kia is joining its affiliate Hyundai in recalling thousands of vehicles in the U.S. because water can get into a brake computer, cause an electrical short and possibly a fire.

The Kia recall covers nearly 229,000 Sedona minivans from the 2006 through 2010 model years. Also covered are Sorento SUVs from 2007 through 2009. Kia is telling owners to park their vehicles outside and away from structures and other vehicles until the problem can be fixed.

The company says in documents posted Thursday by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that moisture can get into the antilock brake control computer and cause an electrical short and possible fires. Kia has reports of seven fires, but no injuries. The problem can happen even if the engine is turned off.

Dealers will install a relay in the main electrical junction box to stop power from going to the brake computer when the engine is off. The recall is expected to start April 10.

Ford recalls more than 268,000 Fiesta, Fusion, Lincoln MKZ over faulty door latch in US and Canada - Link

New Delhi: Ford Motor Company has announced safety recalls for 268,347 vehicles in North America, including countries like the US, Mexico and Canada, over faulty door latches. In the US alone, 248,912 vehicles are affected due to the recall, while in Mexico, the number is 19,431 and 4 cars are affected in Canada.

The American auto major has informed that the affected vehicles under this recall campaign include 2014-15 Ford Fiesta, 2014-16 Ford Fusion and 2014-16 Lincoln MKZ models.

The affected vehicles' faulty door latches are said to have a fractured pawl spring tab, which results in the door not closed situation that could be dangerous. However, the automaker claims that no accident or injury due to this fault has been reported yet.

Besides this, Ford has also issued a recall for 3,631 units of 2021 Ford E-Series vehicles over a faulty wire harness that could, over time, damage the fuel pump circuits, resulting in abrupt engine shutdown. The recall affects 2,871 Ford E-Series in the US and 760 models in Canada.

In another recall in Canada, 54,292 vehicles are affected, which include 2006-10 Ford Fusion, 2006-10 Mercury Milan and 2006-10 Lincoln MKZ models. These vehicles come with a faulty hydraulic control unit that could result in extended brake pedal travel, leading to a potential risk of a crash.

My (former) 2014 Fiesta had this issue and they fixed it under a recall back in early 2019 itself. What is this new recall for the same issue?
