PRESS RELEASE

MITSUBISHI MOTORS CORPORATION TO PREMIERE ALL-NEW ASX COMPACT CROSSOVER AT THE 2010 GENEVA MOTOR SHOW

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) will premiere its ASX all-new compact crossover from Tuesday March 2, 2010 to Sunday March 14, 2010 at the 80th Geneva International Motor Show held at the Geneva Palexpo in Switzerland.

The ASX is the European-spec version of the Japanese RVR, which is slated to go on sale in Japan from February 2010. MMC's new compact crossover will seat 5 and will be sequentially introduced in European countries from late spring 2010, aimed at expanding MMC's passenger car footprint in the region, following in the footsteps of the larger and recently redesigned Outlander mid-size crossover.

Amongst other available powertrains, the European-spec version will be fitted with an all-new Euro 5-compliant 1.8L turbocharged direct-injection diesel engine jointly developed by MMC and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. and will feature "Automatic Stop & Go" technology. Together with a 6-speed manual transmission, this combination will provide high environmental efficiency.

I think there is a thread on this already (it was a concept car then)
BTW I find this very identical to Audi Q5, you just need to turn the grill upside down!

Apart from the 'almost-a-Lancer' front, a fairly new design. From the pics, it looks like the rear end is a bit too compressed.Definitely something to look out for!

Very Audi Q5-Q7 if you ask me! The silhouette and the glass area seem to draw inspiration from the Audi SUVs. But it's quite nice and would do very well in India I reckon! It could give competition to the Skoda Yeti if priced competitively!

Mitsubishi needs to bring new products to India instead of flogging the old Lancer every year! Even the Cedia is getting old and isn't exactly setting the sales charts on fire! Wake up Mitsubishi!

yes...its look great. Is this coming to india?
But i hope not.
Because Mitsubishi promised many thing for india but comes nothing at last.
I think Mitsubishi never take india seriously.
Always dump outdated car in india(Pajero, Lancer etc...)

Nothing eceptional as such .You can get good varieties in US with a 25 grand price tag. However in india it can do good But i am pretty sure it will be that of a price of a CRV.And people will go for BMW X1 if it gets released too as promised.

This looks similar to Q5 ,but looks ok with the new company grill and head lamps.

globally it is expected to be priced way below the outlander. so if here outlander rivals with CR-V, this CUV could be in between the 14-17 lakh area.

"... RVR’s overall length at 4.3 metres is shorter too. Mitsubishi has launched the RVR with a 147bhp 1.8-litre turbocharged direct-injection diesel engine in Japan and it is likely that it will bring in an India-spec model."
