By the time the new Panther/Tavera hits the Indian markets, Toyota will have already launched the Innova/Qualis. The Qualis will be a full generation ahead of the new Panther since Toyota skipped the in-between 2 generations of the Qualis. Both the cars are very good with typical no-nonsense Japanese reliability. But will Indian customer be able to accept the completely new shape (more MPV-like) of the Innova and go for the new Panther ?? Lets wait and watch.

I like the look of this...much more "macho" than the minivan Innova. I'm sure if GM were to launch this here, it would sell really well.

However, the Toyota brand is way too strong for the others to make much of a dent in this segment.
