Fabia facelifted

Link: Skoda Facelifts Fabia and Roomster Models, Adds New Gasoline and Diesel Engines - Carscoop

At next week's Geneva Motor Show, Skoda will lift the wraps off the refreshed Fabia hatchback and Combi station wagon models as well as their MPV-esque sibling, the Roomster.

All three models benefit from some minor cosmetic tweaks up front that include a restyled grille, a new bumper design and revised headlights. The new alloy wheel and hub cap designs along with the expanded palette of exterior finishes round off the exterior changes.

The most important updates are hidden under the hood as Skoda has adopted the VW Group's new 1.2-liter 12v and 1.2-liter TSI that replace the naturally aspirated 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter gasoline units, and the 1.2-liter and 1.6-liter TDI that take the place of the 1.4-liter and 1.9-liter TDI diesels.

The 1.2-liter 12v gasoline unit produces 86HP (there's also a 70HP version) while its turbocharged TSI counterpart delivers an output of 105HP and can be optionally combined with VW's 7-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission.
The new 1.2 TDI diesel churns out 75HP while the new 1.6 TDI is offered in two flavors, with 90HP and 105HP.

Hopefully we get some decent motors here, replacing the tardy 2 motors that power the current fabia, especially considering the competition from its own sibling, the cheaper polo.

Shouldn't this go under international threads? Especially since nothing concrete is known on India.

Hey Gemi,

nice to see you back in the forum. the fog lamp shape has been changed from the current circular form. Moreover, the bonnet seems to be more integrated with the grill and the "fins" seems to be bit more slanted than the current upright position

This facelift looks like a mini Lura for me with those changed grill, head lights and bumpers.
I think we can except this in April when the emission norms change.

The head lamps look like a straight lift from the Laura. The tail lights would also be following the same design I guess. However the main change is going to be inside the hood which should matter the most for us.
1 question --> By when should we expect seeing this model in India? Lets pray & hope that Skoda also dont end up selling the old & new Fabia side by side.

And a new bonnet? Also a Koreanish grill

Hope they do launch it at a Polo BEAT i20 price.

Certainly hope not, they aren't Maruti (sell 3 generations of the same vehicle side by side) or Tata (remember the Indica, then the Indica V2, now the Indica Turbo alongside the Dicor version along side the Vista).

They stopped the old Superb when they came out with the new one rite!!

maybe even the pricing of their cars could be face lifted (more like dropped) esp between versions in the variations they have to sell.

Engine definitely needs upgrade!! Kills your driving mood when compared to other diesels in the same size!!

But isn;t this so so so typical of Skoda.. Facelifted versions of the cars every year!! Like the L&K, Ambiente types??

nice i like.

looks more serious now. yeah and i dont think that skoda india will get the face lift of the fabia here. they can't afford to sell the car at the price it is being offered currently leave alone selling a face lifted fabia.

cheers,
ac

I did not find any khaaas difference. Like the face lifted Civic.
I could see the GC slightly improved. But need to compare the stats first.
