A New York artist has deconstructed one of America's most petrol-thirsty vehicles to create the horse-drawn Hummer.

Jeremy Dean created "Back to the Futurama" as a statement on American consumer culture, the auto industry and the economic recession.

Mr Jeremy, 33, spent £10,000 buying the black Hummer H2, which gets about 9 miles to the gallon and boasts DVD players. With a team of mechanics, he then dismantled the vehicle, and made it into an engine-less carriage

I like that artist. You really can't fault that design. Looks good and should look smashing after placing those horses there.

I think it would look smashing with 4 white Arabian horses pulling it.

The artist has done a really good job .

Interesting item in that article :

Depends on how many horses you attach. Would they be Jap, Korean or American horses ?

A good tasty artist.
This Hummer looks great and I think they need at least 4 HP to pull this heavy metal.

10K USD for a Hummer is steal! At 10K, i would rather buy it as second car for once in a while outing instead of pulling them by horses

No USD. The price quoted is in GBP.

I like the concept. Quite practical and spreads the message which is one reason why it was incorporated!!

All said and done £10,000 is a barrrgain. I wonder how the ex-owner sold it so cheap.
The message has been conveyed very well though.

@all who are wondering about the low cost: hummers AFAIK have terrible resale value.. in Dubai you could get a reasonably spec'd used Hummer for as low as AED50K (1 AED= 12 Rs approx).

its a really nice concept. now all you need are chrome plated horses for power and TPain just got himself a brand new ride!!

imagine how embarrassing it would be if you were stuck at a signal and the horses got the call of nature!!

If i import one, even after paying 200% tax on second hand imports it will be way cheaper than buying a second hand one in India (that is if anyone is selling). Why are not more people doing it then?
