Beijing auto show 2010

source: carscoop website
Some Chinese clones coming to the Beijing auto show 2010:

the Jeep Wrangler (body) /Land Rover (fascia)-inspired "B40" (in red): Supposedly based on a shortened platform and the mechanics of the B90.
Beijing auto show 2010-baw1.jpg

the Land Rover-y "B90" (in silver): No information, other than that it "resembles a Land Rover style, body dominated by straight lines and edges." Clearly.

The smaller, electric hatchback model is called the C30 EV (somewhere a Volvo attorney just got a migraine), and it looks like a first-generation Insight-baby after a few too many Happy Meals, with a Yaris and a Fit for parents...
Beijing auto show 2010-baw3.jpg

"007" (in black): Using what is no doubt some sort of reference to the secret agent, BAW says this is a compact SUV with "Jeep family characteristics". I don't see it. It may be coming with both a 2.0 and 2.4 liter engines and 2- / 4-wheel drive.

At the end of 2009, Saab, in an effort to recoup some dough back when it was a part of GM, sold BAIC (Beijing Automotive Industry Holdings Co. Ltd.) the rights to use some old models/designs. Basically, BAIC will be able to use older 9-3 and 9-5 models' designs and their respective tech.
Thanks to that deal, BAIC sub-brand Beijing Auto Works (BAW) will be debuting at least one Saab-ish model this year at the Beijing Auto Show.
This one appears to be the first new (yet aged beyond its years) Chinese-version of the outgoing Saab 9-5, code-named the C71. Anyone else for automotive "lipstick on a pig"?

I doubt the quality of these vehicles on our roads otherwise, B40 is inspiring to me.

Huatai's porsche cayenne clone with a bentley grill

Only in China: A Porsche Cayenne Clone with a Bentley Snout by Huatai - Carscoop

Just when you think we've seen it all from China's clone-loving auto manufacturers, along comes Huatai with this gem: the oh-so Porsche Cayenne-ish B35 SUV that was caught here by photographers as it was unloaded off a truck.
Set to make its world premiere at this month's 2010 Beijing Auto Show, the Huatai B35 "improves" upon the first generation Cayenne's looks by adopting a very Bentley-like fascia with a large chrome grille.
There's little news on the SUV's mechanical hardware but don't expect to find any V6 or V8 powertrains under the hood...

The Sedan looks good.
What about the quality of these chinese products?
Can they match the best in business?

You must be kidding. Anyways lets see what are the cars that 'inspire' it.We have Bentley,Chevy Cruze,Camry and to me,the rear looks like a stretched Dezire! This is downright repulsive.

As for the Cayenne clone, the less said the better.Cars like these should be sent to the scrapyard immediately and then recycled. So that all that wasted metal could be used for purposes better than being an insult/mockery to the automobile.

All the cars showed here are mix and match of the models of well known brands. How much ever China increases it economy or military clout, they dont seem to generate any respect in their businesses.

The Cayenne clone is a complete disaster.

The sedan - clone or no clone - still looks ok. IMO the front of the sedan in fact looks good - even if it has been cloned from x number of cars.

AFA the car show is concerned, I am sure there will be enough of the good stuff on display. China is a HUGE market for automobiles and manufacturures know that.

indian auto market has already been invaded by the chinese clones, supported by Premier Automoblies.

5000 booking have already been made.

china loves countries like india where people want CHEAP products. so where there is demand, there is supply!

thank you india for supporting china.

Darn... look at the headlamps on the saloon.... the units are modeled the same way their eyes are! Probably this is why they are the world's largest car market, cheap replica cars that sell by dozens! Is there anything called Intellectual property rights in China?
