Facelifted Maybach revealed

Revised Maybach range revealed - Autocar.co.uk

This is the facelifted Maybach range - and could be the last ever Maybachs as parent company Daimler continues to refuse to sign off development of all-new models.
Power has been increased on the top Maybach 57S and 62S models, so the 12-cylinder engine emits 18bhp more, at 457bhp. However average fuel economy improves from 17.22mpg to 17.88mpg and CO2 emissions drop from 390g/km to 368g/km.

The standard 57 and 62 models are still powered by a 542bhp motor, but average fuel economy drops from 18.83mpg to 17.77mpg and CO2 emissions fall from 350g/km to 383g/km.
Styling changes include a new chrome radiator grille, which varies in look between the standard 57 and 62 models and the S variants, plus a redesigned bonnet, a reshaped front bumper, modified door mirrors and a new rear light design. The changes add 11mm to the car's length and 17mm to its width.
The standard cars get new-look 21-spoke, 19-inch wheels, while the S models get 12-spoke, 20-inch wheels. Maybach says the new-look car is more aerodynamic, reducing interior wind noise.
Interior options include hand-braided or crystal-encrusted seat piping, a 19-inch rear screen, a perfume atomiser and a wireless internet function. Long-wheelbase models get a electrotransparent panoramic glass sunroof ,which has a liquid crystal membrane that makes the glass transparent or opaque at the push of a button.
A camera can also broadcast an all-round view from the car to rear seat screens, showing passengers what's happening around the car without them having to look through the centre of the vehicle (so occupants can avoid being seen), or lower a privacy screen between them and the driver.
In addition, the reclining rear seat previously available only in the Maybach 62 will be available in the 57 range.
The cars will be formally unveiled at the Beijing motor show on Friday.

To be frank, I find the changes are minimal. I don't know why the dash of this car is so dull which has a very high price and dash looks like early 2000 model, but at the sametime i am amazed by the leg room it gives and the seats looks like sofa, even for the driver is really a plus for this car.

Interiors are simply out of this world.
Didnt like the exterior design though. Could have been far more classy.

The front looks wierd. Its like a badly modified E class (the old one).
But the interiors are to die for. It could probably put a corporate jet to shame.
And the dual tone paint job was unnecessary and sad.

Interiors & equipments are file, but Diamler has to understand that that need to create a product is actually different from the long wheel base S-class.

Mere badge engineering with few added gizmos does not help. They need to do something like what has been done in case of RR by BMW. The RRs not only retain their character, but BMW's engines have added taste to the car. No doubt RRs are the best cars on planet (from all perspective).

Maybach makes wonderful cars as well, but the character has been lost in resurrection of the brand.

simply awesome interiors, too good to be true. But exterior looks very bad to me. very bad color combo. The colors simply dont match. Even if it was in single color, the blue it would have looked good.

Looks like a DC modified car, for me the exterior pic fit in wacky job thread

This car should be registered as a LCV and not as LMV. Just look at the size, it looks like its been on steroids for an awfully long time. Gosh I saw one a couple of years back & I was floored at its lenght & breath. However I am sure that it will as easy to drive as a hatchback considering the million driving aids that will go in the car.
However its sad to see such a marquee dying a slow death.

A half-hearted effort by Daimler Chrysler to keep a dying marque alive. Comes with the usual LED bits and wing mirrors like the latest from the Mercedes-Benz stable. Doesn't look bad,but lacks character. The fact that ultimately will lead to its demise.

Good one.

What's with the dual shade? And those particular two shades? Look downright sad to me.

The interiors though - esp. the rear seats - are out of the world.

Maybach seems to follow Mercs way of face lift. Just Sharpen all the rounded areas and add some kilos of chrome. IMHO, Love the Pre-FL than this one, Now to see it flesh to confirm it.

The Maybach is still based on the S500L. So the looks are pretty much S-class like. But the interior of this car is the place to be in! I think it has better rear seat comfort than the Rolls-Royce. But this still doesn't beat the phantom in terms of sheer presence and brand value.

The interiors are half a decade old,IMO Audi has shifted the game with its new A8 interiors.Plain jane alloys, with its only USP left is the reclining seat.
