Wow. This is the first nice looking car that I have seen from GM's counterpart in Australia. Too bad it is a concept. This is the Holden Efigy concept unveiled at the 2005 International Motor Show in Sydney.

ooohhh...I luv the curves...wot abt the motor?

Looks like Holden is going the Chevy way - retro. Remember the SSR truck?
Look at this concept. The radiator grill is like an animals mouth - with teeth and nostrils on the top. I don't think you can see too much out of that rear windshield and with that big boot, those flared wheel arches, and puny door mirrors, reversing and parking is going to be a nightmare.
Still, if you want to anounce your arrival at a high class party, this car is a cool way to do it. Power's not bad either. 6L supercharged V8 producing 650bhp.

From the Holden website...

Dimensions

· Length: 5162mm Width: 1999mm
· Height – drive setting: 1386mm Height – show setting: 1274mm
· Ground clearance - drive: 139mm Ground clearance - show: 27mm
· Track front: 1640mm Track rear: 1660mm
· Wheelbase: 2946mm

Powertrain

· Engine: GM 6.0-litre, LS2 aluminium V8 with Roots-type supercharger
· Bore and stroke: 101.6 mm x 92.0 mm
· Compression ratio: 10.9:1
· Power and torque: 480kW (645 bhp) @ 6400 rpm
· Torque: 775Nm (560 ft/lb) @ 4200 rpm

This car is about as Australian as a Big Mac & Cheese. Likely it was styled in Southern California - Hot Rod heaven.

The low-low show type setting, the purple (?) shade, the split front windscreen - all this reeks of the '49 Merc (Mercury) type street rods. Even the rear number plate illumination pod looks like an airplane - the 50s & 60s obsession of GM stylists with aviation machinery.

Of course, I would be digressing if I didnt say that I absolutely LOVE it!

I thought Chevy owned Holden, and this motor is a vette motor..the motor that might go into what is being deemed the blue devil...I just cant wait...

I think this is a very very cool looking car...very nice curves...
retro well done
