He wanted to know the fastest....not the most powerful.

According to the latest Guiness Book of records, its the CCR.

By the time the next Guiness Book of Records come out, the Veyron should be the fastest.

So, officially, its the CCR, unofficially, its the Veyron. We'll find it out in in Top Gear when Clarkson races Richard and James in a Veyron from Modena(?) Italy to London.

Some say the Bugatti EB 16/4 Veyron, although it's currently not in production.

Others say the Koenigsegg CCR.

People do forget, however, that the Vector Avtech WX-3 V-8 Twin Turbo was also a class-leader at a time.

Nevertheless, for me, the fastest, greatest and simply the best hypercar will always remain the McLaren F1. I feel blessed to have seen two. Although stationary, they are mindblowingly too-good-to-be-true.

Honest? Not bad. I've seen pictures of a few having been spotted in the USA, including one that survived a narrow crash. The Veyron is too costly and not incredibly beautiful. It may have the technical and mechanical advantage, but it'll never have the edge over cars built with true flair/passion, exhibiting 'real' supercar qualities. My statement is normative.

You mean it doesnt look cool enough...and what's "REAL" supercar quality - it cant get more super than one that can catch up with a McLaren F1 at 200 mph after giving it a 10 second headstart...

Just reading about it made my tummy go back with imaginary jet-thrust...

I second you on that. All the rest are simply pretenders to the throne.

The Veyron was never meant to be a hypercar. Its just a power showcase, and even Bugatti akcnowledge that.

As far as the overall hypercar thing goes, its the Mclaren through and through. It has everything one could want in a supercar. Nearly perfect .
