Automobile Slaughter House!! Weak hearts stay away

My search for a steering wheel for my Land crusier has bought me here.
Was shocked to see 2010 model cars hardly driven 2000 kms in this condition.
Some cars were in such a state one can only recognise them from their embelems and shields.
Majority of there cars are insurance claimed and been bought as spare parts car by the owner of this place. and some are stolen ones not claimed by the owner or left on streets are been carried here.
check out the pics.

Wow, a true heaven for people hunting for spare-parts. Wish, there was a place like this in Chennai. I would have hunted-down half of the spare parts for my vehicle.

Some of our brothers into restoration etc would go crazy here. Wish there were places like this here where some of the DIYers would have a fun day. But till then alas we have to make do with our own Mayapuri.

I'm making a general statement here, quite idiotic maybe, but I've noticed there are a large number of high speed crashes in the Gulf... especially from whatever I've seen of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. And the worst ones are probably caused in pile-ups during foggy conditions.

A big business in Sharjah, you can find plenty in the industrial area. The cars you find in these yards are beyond repair. If the affected area can be repaired, guys will fix it and sell it to exporters. (Even a small welding on chassis will not be approved by vehicle testing authorities for registration in UAE).

I have heard of one in Dhaid (Owned by Bad Boys Group from Kerala) which is really huge. If you want a part, these guys will drive around in a vehicle to find the part for you.

In Fifth Gear show, they showed a similar scrapyard in the UK. The body shells are compressed using huge hydraulic presses and then shipped to India / China for re-processing in auto components industry. The anchor of the show, bought a disused car (but with all the paper work to drive to the yard) and then sold it for a profit to the scrap.
Wonder, some of these exotic wreckage could very well land in our own car parts.
