Ahead of its official debut tomorrow, pics of the new CLS rivalling A7 sportback leaked onto the internet just a few hours back.

Pics courtesy carscoop; no mechanical details available as of now but will be updated with the press release here when it becomes available.

The A7 is handsome and aggressive. The side profile has design cues similar to the BMW 5GT and the Citroen C6. The front is menacing. The dash, though not completely uncluttered, is also pleasing to the eye. Me likes.

Following the Beemer GT idea; well, glad that the competition woke up.

The a7 looks cool. The interiors a mix of old and new a8. The front looks awesome.
But what happened to the rear?
Who to blame? CLS?
Or panamera?

Front looks good but the rear 3-quarter is messed up. Looks a lot like Panamera in side profile (fastback roofline). I find the Audi A5 sportback much more beautiful than this one.

New? Infact, old CLS any day !! Am I the only one who's NOT into this whole Panamera/5GT/A7 movement?

This seems like Audi's answer to 5GT, though looks are far more acceptable compared to Beemer.

@FS: I am with you too; I am no fan of the design philosophy of these cars.

Very few manufacturers can make a beautiful fastback four-door. Aston martin Rapide being one of them.

Am glad that the German Trios have really geared up against each other in such a competetive way that everything about each car seems to overlap on other. E-class and the new 5 series being the best example. I would have preferred older days when character was more separate from each other .

While the 5GT allows for reclining rear seats - it seems the A7 doesn't have this available, neither does the CLS. Speaking of which, the CLS looks nothing like the E or S while the BMW/AUDI equivalent offerings are both offshoots of its Marquee sedans.

IMHO, the Bimmer is the highest & ugliest of the lot (kinda like a midget X6). The CLS was also never as nice as the CL but the new incarnation is a looker. The A7 looks great - very Panameraesque from the profile and definitely the easiest on the eyes of this lot.

I love it. With the right comination of wood and leather the interior is simply out of this world.
