Car & Yacht spotting in Monte Carlo

Been meaning to share this for a while now, and got a few more like this lined up for later..

We had a company meeting in Monte Carlo ( Monaco) , yes , the same place where the F-1 street circuit is. We were there in Jan , so pretty good weather albeit a little chilly for us natives. Its a small place and expensive, anyhow enough background for now, you can Google the rest, on with the story.

Playground to the rich and famous of Europe Monaco is stacked floor to ceiling with cars ! an absolute delight for folks like us, every 5 minutes or so you will see a Porsche , Ferrari or a Lamborghini - and special editions mind you. every 10 minutes a Rolls or a Bentley will come by. A walk in Monaco is rather entertaining all you see is yachts and car dealers - big names Bentley, Rolls , Porsche etc , u tend to stop looking after the first two days.

Yachts are the other big draw in the marina - these are the only things that outdo the cars, big , beautiful and expensive, some with choppers parked on the roof and all sorts of toys on board (including some of the two legged variety, i wont say anymore )

A walk along the main road basically means you are walking by and on the F-1 track, the starting grid is marked out on the main road permanently and that famous tunnel that we have seen on TV

The other must see is the car museum that the Prince has gifted to the small principality , for a small fee (6 euros) from what i remember, you get to see 400 odd cars - vintage, rally, modern and F-1. A must visit and quite a treat, i wont go into details of what we saw, let the pictures tell the story

from a driving point of view Monaco is full of tunnels as space is at a huge premium, apartments sell at many thousands of Euros per sq ft and with people like Elton John living there its not what i would call affordable, but heck i dont have to live there. Parking is an art form on the kerb side with narrow winding roads and small parking slots.

But every time you hear a Lamborghini or a Ferrari roaring past it makes it all worth while.

Uploading some pictures , including scenery. Hope you like them, if you get to go, go and see this place..

Cheers

Sorry guys, got tied down before i could reply, also posting more pictures..

1. No didn't get more pictures of the circuit - the circuit is basically the main road of the city, i did get one of the starting grid - now posted. going there during the F-1 race or the Rally is going to cost quite a bit . The track is like driving down MG Road of any Indian City

2. glad you liked the pictures, posting a few more that i intended to, i took quite a few..

Cheers

The lady in the middle of your 4th pic (first pic post). Want her Now!

--- rather old-fashioned lines, wooden boat, probably, certainly from an era of yacht design when the results were really beautiful.

Sorry... show me a pretty boat and I forget all about cars

Yeah , i know what you mean about boats, theres something rather adventurous and romantic about them, even though i am a bit scared of water to be honest.
The wooden deck , the sails, the fact that you can live in them in the middle of the ocean is very appealing.

Then there is perspective as well, these boats look at home in a place like this where there are beautiful marinas to park them. I do have some more pictures , will post them later..

Cheers
