Aston Martin DB9 in Racing Green v Green Interior

Hi Guys!

Most of my friends were quite surprised with the colour of my pretty lady and more so when they saw the interiors! It appears that folks have started to expect that the car is in the 'standard' grey/blue/white colours with tan/black interiors. The interiors are Wimbeldon & Parliament Green... A few even suggested that I get the interiors done up again. Am not too keen as this is a very unique machine...

What say you?

<had posted some of these on the intro page but guess it's ok to repost here in a new thread>

Well, to be brutally honest, I'd have preferred a different interior colour-combination. Would've gone in for light beige/off-white with subtle green stitching. I would've given the wood-trim a miss as well. But it's an absolutely gorgeous and stunning car nevertheless!

The Car looks simply brilliant. Great choice with the color although I would have preferred a black interior or red (mild).
But the British Racing green is the only color I can imagine an Aston in.
Again great car.

Congratulations on the car Dubeee. Great taste and very subdued yet bold combination. As long as it does it for you, that what matters.
As far as i am concerned instead of the parliament green i would have gone in for either Iron ore red, lords red or chestnut tan. If i wanted the Parliament gree interiors i would go with a white, onyx black or jet black exterior colour to do justice. If i wanted to experiment and be different sunburn yellow would do it. The combo of the car makes it look almost bland to me.

This is just my two bits here.

Congrats on owning one of the most beautiful cars on earth today! This isn't the facelifted 2011 model right? When did you buy it?

Speaking about the interior combination....well, not to my liking atleast. With green exterior paint, tan interiors would look good. Just my 2 cents...

But it's really upto what you like. After all, you're the owner and you are going to be within the confines of that interior
Don't go by what others say. Color choice is very subjective.

This IS, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful of the modern cars. Absolutely classy and elegant with all that power on tap. Drives like a dream. Sigh!!

;-) A bespoke car ordered (for a special person) in '07, she was not used for a over year before we picked it up after falling for the Racing Green exterior.

The truth is that the interior did not really appeal to me either. Was considering the tan option too. However considering that it would take 10-15000 US$ to change the interiors and the fact that it sort of 'grew on us' we decided to maintain it as is. Still done only 13k kms and we just extended the warranty till '12.

Doing a lot of work on my other 'neglected' beauty, a '96 cherry red BMW 850Ci which I've had forever. Will post some of those pics next month.

Thank you for your input guys!

Cheers!

>>> dubeee,

A brilliant and elegant car, for pushing it to its very limits. In my view the best Aston in the current stable of Astons. Owes a lot to Ian Callum too.

The exterior colour is fabulous. If I had been monstrously lucky to own this Aston, I would have chosen a different interior colour. But that is me. Ultimately it is the owner's prerogative to customise as per her/his choices. If its fine with you, then that's that.

Congrats on a terrific terrific piece of machinery and enjoy every moment of it. Please post more pics, especially the engine and the suspension if possible. Also, post a log on your runs.

If I were you I would be doing a London to Monte Carlo run ( a la Barnato) and a London to Copenhagen run ( a la Clarkson)

>>> ragingbull,

Do we have a DB9 or a Rapide in apro Bombay?

Regards

Nothing in India at the moment. Unless there is a proper supercar rally or something like that. Checked with some FB groups but no joy!

Will bring some of the other cars next year. Let me check on additional photos and will post them soon. Suspension etc will have to take some this week.

Cheers!

Personally I liked the interiors. Beige, black, grey with that shade of green on the outside would look sillier. IMO.

Love the car,its extremely beautiful.Looks better than the DB7.And i like those interiors too.The only thing that does go with green is the wood,could you replace it with something like burnished aluminium(like on the doors)

I think it looks very british and aristocratic....just how the car should be.

Spot on, well done. Love it.
