2012 Nissan GT-R Unveiled

These images are purportedly of Nissan's 2012 GT-R, which features "a revised front fascia complete with new (and sure to be controversial) LED driving lights frenched into new canards at either corner of the front bumper, lowering the car's coefficient of drag from 0.272 to 0.268."

There's also a new rear diffuser that adds 10 percent more downforce at the business end and a set of forged wheels from Rays cut 6.6 pounds of unsprung weight at each corner for a total loss of over 26 pounds.

Is it just me, or do I see the smoother curves been borrowed from the 2010 Altima & Maxima? Not a surprising thing, but just an observation given that the earlier 'slightly boxy' look of the GT-R was more aggressive looking.

I was expecting the next generation of the G-TR.
But the front and rear bumpers are cool, especially the rear diffuser looks hot.
The LEDs are becoming more and more de rigeur nowadays and lost their earlier uniqueness.Curiously, it makes me remember the LEDs of the S-class.

I agree. Personally, I don't really like the design. I sort of looks like they took the Lancer Evolution front and stretched it back, and took the Nissan Skyline rear end and put it together to create the car.

Nissan has also added a 'Track Pack' to the 2012 GT-R. More here: Nissan GT-R
