This one tests the speed limit of a BMW 7 Series on the German autobahn near Hamburg.The 22 year old Brazilian was speeding at 291 kmph (181mph), caught and fined Euro 1800 and punished with a three month ban on driving.

A scary Jalopnik video.The Kia Sedona minivan was being driven by a lady, who was shooting the trucks playing the cat and mouse game on her video cam.Then bang came the missile crashing into her minivan.

Jalopnik says that it verified the fact as to whether this was true or a hoax with the local enforcement department at Shelby, Carolina and it was confirmed.

This link tells about the not so good side of Mercedes Benz as a corporate entity.The company had allegedly paid bribes in 2003 worth 4.7 million Euros to ensure the deal for supply of 210 fire fighting trucks worth 110 million Euros to Croatian officials.

This one is amusing! A woman in Germany misplaced her Audi for 39 days. She even offered a Euro 100 prize for the finder but that did not impress anyone. Finally, the car was located in a parking lot where she had parked it originally-this was only when she told her woes to a Munich newspaper, a resident located the car. More on this link:-

Its news that radiation has been detected for the first time since March 11th 2011 on Japanese cars shipped out. Of the 2500 cars shipped to Chile, 21 have been found to contain low levels of radioactivity reportedly harmless to humans.

Here is news that Volkswagen has slashed its prices of the Jetta and Passat to gain a foothold in the US market.After the old Beetle's success till the 1970's, VW did not have any offering in its stable that could click with the US costumer. So VW now redefines its strategy to beat Toyota and GM and emerge as the largest car maker in the world by 2018. For more this is the link:

GM is concerned that Opel and Vauxhall under its European division are not doing well. Volkswagen and Chinese automakers seem interested to buy Opel.GM appears to be true businessmen.There appears to be no attachment with the brand Opel, that they grew with in Germany and in many other parts of the world since 1929.

And here is bad news for Audi. White rapper Eminem has sued Audi for plagiarizing his song "Lose Yourself ", for their advertisement in You Tube for the A6 Avant ! The Audi parent VW is working out strategies to market itself aggressively in the US when this lawsuit has come.

Thats exactly what I thought when I saw the advert for the first time too. I was like HUH!!

Eminem is most certainly going to win this one. Its an open and shut case. That said, maybe ze Germans should take his permission next time they want to use his tune!

Cyrus, it seems the rapper allowed Chrysler to use his song since they got his permission but since Audi did all that on their own they have to face the (rap)

music from Eminem.
Back to Opel and GM's trying to hive off everything Opel!

CEO Matthias Muller of Porsche, has confirmed plans that Porsche cars will continue to be made at their Leipzig and Stuttgart plants in Germany and nowhere else.The U.S. and China are the biggest markets for Porsche and have overtaken even the local German market, sales wise. But the CEO says, Porsche is well known as a German brand and hence there are are no plans to make it elsewhere, other than in Germany.

The top 500 German companies have reported record profits amid a boom condition during the last financial year. And gladly the topper is Volkswagen earning 126.9 billion Euros with a 20.9 % rise in profits as compared to the year before. Daimler is second with an earning of 97.8 billion Euros,showing a 23.9% rise in profits.

This Jalopnik link reports that the Jackass movie star Ryan Dunn, 34, died in a car crash. The car crashing was his Porsche 911 near Philadelphia, early on 20th June morning (local time). Its unbelievable that the mangled remains are that of the Porsche !
