Spy shots-2012 Hyundai grandeur/azera partially exposed

Pics source New Hyundai Cars Blog :: 2011 Hyundai Sonata, Tucson SUV, dealerships, spy shots, reviews, concept cars, sales... via clubhg.kr

Hyundai will launch a fully redesigned version of its grandeur/azera sedan positioned between the sonata and genesis. Since the sonata will stick to a 4 cylinder lineup, expect the azera to be available with V6 GDI engines. It will go on sale this December in South Korea followed by select markets worldwide in 2011-12.

My take is that the front end looks pretty bloated and hideous. The rear taillights are a direct ripoff of the 2011 saab 9-5. The current azera's taillights are a copy of the 2003-2005 honda accord.

I can bet there will be roughly about 20 more replies in this thread saying it is a 'copy' of this or that (I can also safely bet that the car supposedly copied from will not look like this one from any angle, except in the most generic way).

Well, whatever makes people feel good, I suppose.

Let start the

'Yawn' indeed!!!

Scared to buy a Hyundai

@Sid, By the time, this car gets launched , they would have shown a new concept of the same car in some other part of the world. Its always scary to buy a Hyundai since they keep changing models every year. Its nice to see them being very quick to launch new models but just wondering how the customers feel when they see their cars getting changed every year. Resale would be a disaster!!!

Re: Spy shots-2012 Hyundai grandeur/azera partially exposed

Official sketches and teaser video of the new Azera (Grandeur) have been released by Hyundai and it looks like the Koreans have finally arrived.

yeah, a lot similar.. Italians hate it if they're products are copied, to such an extent that they act dramatic about it forever..

You can say that again. I know of some people who got pulled up & fined at the Italian airport for sporting a fake Gucci bag.

Re: Spy shots-2012 Hyundai grandeur/azera partially exposed

After toying around with teasers and spy-shots, Hyundai finally launched the all-new Grandeur in Korea on Jan-14-2011. From the launch pic, the new Grandeur is looking really 'grand' and seems to be a huge improvement over the bland-looking existing model. This has become the usual stuff of Hyundai-Kia now a days. I think, this all-new Grandeur/Azera is going to continue the super successful streak of Hyundai-Kia globally.

Article Source: www.thecarblogger.net

Hyundai has been advertising the all-new generation of its Grandeur for quite some time now, but today, the automaker officially launched the large sedan in its home market. The new Grandeur, which will be badged as the 2012 Azera in the States, arrives in the Korean market six years after its predecessor’s launch in May 2005.

Codenamed HG, the 2012 Grandeur is result of three-and-a-half years and 450 billion won (about US$415 million) of research, development and testing. The new model is positioned between the Sonata and the Genesis sedan.

The South Korean market model is offered with a choice of two gasoline engines, a 2.4-liter four-cylinder Theta II GDI with 201-horsepower and a new 3.0-liter V6 Lambda II GDI producing 270-horsepower. Both engines are linked to a standard six-speed automatic transmission that drives the front wheels.

The new Grandeur comes with a host of safety systems including VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control), VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) and ESS (Emergency Stop Signal), plus a standard nine-airbag system that includes a driver’s knee airbag.

Other notable features include Hyundai's Advanced Smart Cruise Control, which automatically keeps a safe distance from a car ahead and provides automatic stop and restart functions in response to traffic flow, and a Smart Parking Assist System that utilizes a sensor to measure parallel parking spaces, controlling the steering wheel to semi-automatically park the car.

Hyundai said it aims to sell 100,000 units of the Grandeur this year (80,000 in the domestic market and 20,000 outside of Korea) and 120,000 units in 2012 when the car arrives in more markets.
