Lamborghini's successor for the Legendary LM002

This is a thread for one of the most interesting vehicles i.e the successor for the LM002.

Please share your thoughts , pictures and views on the same.

According to a recent report, Lamborghini is developing a successor to the LM002.
Dubbed the LM00X, the three-door crossover will reportedly be based on the Audi Q5 / Porsche Cajun and feature supercar styling.
While the original LM002 was powered by a monstrous V12 engine, the LM00X is slated to use a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 from the Audi S7 Sportback. Nothing is official at this point, but sources are suggesting the engine will produce upwards of 550 hp (410 kW / 558 PS). This should enable the crossover to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than four seconds.
To cope with the extreme performance, the LM00X will be significantly different than its platform mates. Tweaks are expected to include a unique suspension, high performance brakes and exclusive dampers.
A launch is rumored for 2012, so expect to learn more in the coming months.

Looks like a Monster Truck Gallardo! Might work though. Most crossovers these days seem to work, no matter how ugly

No No No.... Lamborghini please don't launch this ugly product in the international market.
It really looks horrible compared to all other products of Lamborghini. Lamborghini should really revamps this UGLY design or they should not launch this.

A cross-over can NEVER be the successor to the epic LM002! This is nothing but milking the Lamborghini brand, even diluting it, for a fat-profit-margin SUV. I can't understand how a crossover can ever retain the raging bull's core values of extreme performance. Here's a link to a related thread : Should Ferrari make SUVs?

Expecting a worthy successor to the LM002, seeing this pic was like a punch smack on my nose!!!
What is the use of this thing? An X6 rear ended into a Gallardo?
At first glance looks like a Lexus CTh.
VW group politics at it's best i may say.
Either make a worthy successor to the LM002 or keep on making sports cars only.

It looks downright ugly!!

I hope and pray that is is a fake that we are talking about.

As for a successor to the LM002, the LM00X is most certainly the most "unworthy" successor...

This information is not backed up by wikileaks, so i'll take it with a pinch of salt .

As for the pics, its a rendering from 2006 or so. Hence its highly unlikely to be the concept build rather than the product itself.

It might not look like a sports car and be nothing in comparison with the LM002, but it will sell.

There is the same sound reasoning behind as the reason was for the Porsche Cayenne. Porsche had to learn a bitter lesson with the 928. It was a brilliant car in its time, but did not have the corporate looks.

When Porsche launched the Cayenne many people thought the Porsche designers lost the plot. How wrong they were. They sold in the first 4 months 11,000, which was not bad considering Porsche made only about 78,000 carts for the whole year. The Cayenne made over 50% of the production at Porsche.

The Chelsea tractors and SUVs are mainly driven by people who do not need them and are an important segment in Europe and North America. This concept makes sense from the manufacturers point of view. And it will help sales of the other models.
