Are these real pictures or are they artists impressions? The rear looks inspired by the SLK

they are artistic impressions of a heavily disguised car seen in Germany.there is still lot of time for its launch,so real pictures are some distance away.

a face lifted version of the current E-class is due in 06 with return to hydraulic brakes instead of the troublesome SBC and there is going to be a 515 bhp E63 AMG V8 version to replace the current E55.

Nice Car.. would definately increase the sales of the e-class.. and merc also needed a new model to take on the likes of BMW and AUDI.. If this is the car then merc will also have a stake in the higher segments

yuckkk !! that looks pathetic .. and if this is how the E will turn out to be like then that would suck big time !! that body line on the side arggh ,nah man doesnt do it for me ...

i think they are stretching the CLS image too far ..

they have ruined the E class from the current version onwards diluted the image..its soo smal...its stylish(sort of) but it needed to be bigger like the old one..

as for this one..I like the front very muscular but the back is YUUCCKKK!!!

The car looks pretty cool and i think they can play around with the front grill a bit as it makes it look pretty bland to me. The car looks a bit loonger though.

The front treatment looks sporty and appealing but the rear yuck with a capital Y..looks like some pickup van was modified..out of the world proportions.

Well it looks a lot more agressive and sporty ..Personally I did not like the headlamp cluster (looks incomplete) the side (especially the B and C pillars)seems to be CLS inspired while the rear seems to be kinda SLR inspired.

The front seems to be the only fresh design feature. As mentioned, the sides have a little too much CLS in them ( which might make the CLS a bit pointless, not that it isnt a little pointless aldready), and the rear is pure SLK. Overall design fails to be cohesive and is confused.
I hope they retain the front end, cos I do like it a lot, and work on the rest of it implementing a few new design cues.

this is an artistic impression so it may not looks exactly what it looks like when it will come out.

one detail missing are the flared wheel archs and rest assured that this merc is going to get them,so the ;looks are definitely bound to change.

what i have seen is that most new Merc designs dont looks good in photo but looks much better in Pics. The S-class is an example of this.it really looks much better in real life, because you don't see the whole car in a single shot like in a photo so each individual design stands out.

Erm......ok. LOL.

Yeah, I found the CLS even more brilliant in the flesh than in the pics. Yet to see the new S class though.
