Aston Martin Virage - Revealed ahead of Geneva

Quote:
Aston Martin has introduced the new Virage model ahead of its Geneva debut next week.
In theory, the Virage is a 2+2 sport coupe (GT) that will sit between the DB9 and DBS models in the Aston Martin lineup. However, in practice the Virage appears on the outside to be a facelifted/restyled DB9 with new headlamps, grille and fenders. The Virage will have a Volante (convertible) variant too that expands this Gran Turismo's offerings.
The new Virage is made of a bonded aluminum structure with an aluminum, magnesium alloy and composite body on top of it. It features a hand-built, front mid-mounted 6.0 liter V12 doling out 490 bhp (365 kW/497 PS) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque. The power plant is mated to a six-speed Touchtronic II automatic transmission through a carbon fiber prop shaft and the gearbox is mounted transversely on the axle for 50:50 total weight distribution.
0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) clocks in at 4.6 seconds and top speed is 299 km/h (186 mph).
The Virage will feature technologies such as an Adaptive Damping System (ADS) which 'intelligently reads the road' for optimized handling. A 'Sport' function also adapts the driving dynamics for a sportier ride with quicker throttle response.
Aston Martin is also fitting its Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) brakes as standard on the Virage, something it claims is unique.
On the inside, as seen in the photos published here, the Aston Martin heritage gets to shine through with a Walnut fascia trim and Iridium Silver center console that properly declares its British luxury credentials.
Pricing for the Virage will be announced at its Geneva premiere.
There's lots more in the press release including details on options.

The front reminds of ferrari f149 california. And this design has become so boring even though it is one of the best ever.

Love the design, love the Lines, love the curves, Aston Martin's look the best to me when it comes to car design starting from DB 8 to One-77, just love them. In my world this is how a good car should look and I can never get bored with it's looks.

Re: Aston Martin Virage - Revealed ahead of Geneva

As always, yet another stunning Aston.

But personally, I feel it would have been good to have had this as a two seater. By the looks of the pic of the convertible (pic 17), it seems to have a very cramped rear seating arrangement. So not a practical 4 seater at all. So why 4, when 2 is more fun!!

The Virage simply looks like a 2-door version of the Rapide to me. Nevertheless, it's drop-dead-gorgeous!! And it's probably the best of both worlds - a grand tourer and a supercar!

Re: Aston Martin Virage - Revealed ahead of Geneva

People may say that all Astons look the same, but what a looker the Virage is. Brilliant clean lines, elegant curves and sharp headlamps look smashing. The roadster adds to the oomph factor too. The 6.0 litre V12 will do wonders to the performance and the cabin is timeless.

It does look like a 2-door Rapide though, as Zohaib rightly pointed out. My dream car list just got a new addition in the shape of the shapely Virage Roadster.

Re: Aston Martin Virage - Revealed ahead of Geneva

It looks like a Rapide mated with a DBS to give birth to a small, but oh-so-stunning, lovechild. Btw, the DB9 is sort of obsolete now, isn't it?

The Virage may be a good looker, but I think the DBS is the best looking Aston ever.

The DB9 obsolete?
It's the coolest coolest COOLEST sports car till now in planet earth.
The new virage looks something like a mix between a DB9 and Rapide(without the rear doors)

The front has resemblence to the Rapide in the first glance and then it starts to look boring in the same way like all 911s.

Re: Aston Martin Virage - Revealed ahead of Geneva

Looks like the Astons are going the 911 way. Are you listening Marek Reichman..... Make them looks different but just as nice!

Same or not. Copied or not. This car was made to turn heads and win hearts.
