That can't be the reason. No big company translates their brand name in the logo. Infact it's the other way around. Look at VW. They had to put their whole brand name in the car (Polo and Vento) along with the VW logo to increase brand visibility.

Guess what they need "new" is the dealerships and reinforce "Obsesses with Quality" in to their A.S.S.

The really big companies hardly or never change their logos. I guess the biggest exception would be Fiat. Anyway in this case I don't think it would matter much as the new logo is very similar to the old one.

I know of the logo change by Fiat and Tata; but I can't seem to recall any other.

Redesigning of layout of showrooms => recovery from customers???

I believe Companies should focus on CTQs and CSFs rather than all this.

By "new" showroom, I was referring to better and more competent A.S.S. not the "swanky" or decor factor of a dealership.

They have just taken out that Skoda Auto out of the Circle.

It might look classy in full chrome.

Hope the logo change might change their fortunes as well.

I think ALL auto companies have modified the logo (atleast minor) at some point of time. Not sure about Toyota, Mitsubishi & Honda though.

Well someone just stole my Skoda's rear logo a week ago. Seems a lot of car logos are getting wacked in Pune. I guess if Skoda change their logos, the old once won't get stolen.

Skoda's Rapid has been spotted in Pune with the companies new logo, as per images posted by auto website oncars.in. The new logo does not feature the words "Skoda Auto" inside the logo. The winged arrow symbol is now in "Skoda Green" instead of the earlier "natural green".



Skoda will be hoping the new logo will change its fortunes which are on the decline here. Skoda's only real hit was the Octavia and even the competent Rapid has been unable to rake in the numbers for Skoda. The Rapid has been outsold by the costlier Vento, between January to April of this year, VW sold 8767 units of the Vento, compared to 6001 units of the Rapid sold in the same period. Earlier this week, Skoda pulled the plug on its Fabia hatchback due to poor sales.

They're taking "We Indians love chrome" to an all new level. Skoda would be like "Yeah and change the logo to something chrome. That's gotta sell"

The evolution of a logo is common even amongst really big companies. Every manufacturer, including Chevrolet, Mercedes, BMW, Ford, Renault, etc have gone through dozens of logos.

LOL! But, it's the same outside India as well. The new logo on the car is different to what's shown online and offline.

Hi all.
Spotted a White Skoda Rapid with the new logo at Ashok Road in Delhi today. The car was ahead of me. Since I was driving in some heavy traffic, I could only have a quick glance of only the rear side of the vehicle.
The car sported the new logo in the middle, with "ŠKODA" written in capital letters in the left and "RAPID" written in capital letters on the right. It did not mention the engine type (TDI/MPI) anywhere at the back. Any chance they are introducing the TSI engine in Indian Rapid?
