Vizualtech Growler E (Tribute to E-Type) headed for Production!

Quote:
Commissioned by an anonymous Swiss businessman, Swedish design firm Vizualtech will build the Growler E.
Not satisfied with the current Jaguar design direction, the nostalgic owner desired a new vehicle with the original style, but up to date with the latest technology.
The Growler is based on the Jaguar XKR and features a lightweight composite body with retro styling.
Under the hood, power will be provided by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine with approximately 600 hp (447 kW / 608 PS). It should enable the 1,550 kg (3,415 lb) coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than four seconds.
If everything goes according to plan, Vizualtech will begin construction in the summer of 2012. Also, additional units could be produced if demand is sufficient. The company estimates pricing could range from £420,000 ($682,670 / €488,225) to upwards of £850,000 ($1,381,760 / €988,205).

Wow. Good find

The car looks spectacular and has retained a lot of the classic lines. The rims are amazing and so is the front. The back may takes some getting used to

Love the colour in the pic with the jet.

Im just wiping away the drool right now. What a fitting tribute to the E Type. It maintains all the classic lines of the original and what better engine than the 5.0 Supercharged. That is simply a brilliant powerplant and with 600 horses absolutely mindblowing.

Thanks for sharing Scorcher. You made my day. Growler added to the 'Cars to Own Before I Die' list

Wow! What a car! Is it me or does it bear some resemblance to an astin martin or a Porsche from the back?
Anyways, this one looks absolutely amazing and gorgeous! A pleasantly unusual design, looks like a nice American classic and the rims are flawless.
Thanks a lot Scorcher

This is epic..! The Volga V12 has finally found it match! I wish they had retained the single headlamps though.

A car like this is for people (like me) who are unable to forget the Jaguar E-type.

Especially an improved E-type with contemporary standards of reliability and safety and none of the old problems, is most welcome.

One of the only E-types I knew in Bombay had loads of electrical problems with its Lucas electrics. This was an early 1960s Jaguar E-type and failed repeatedly in front of my residence on Nepean Sea Road in late 1980.

Another E-type, (actually an XKE) belonged to my neighbour in Everett, Wa. That had electrical problems too, including its funny three wipers for one windshield.
