I am sure Mercedes must have thought about giving scissor doors. Then must have thought, it will resemble Mclaren with whom they separated a while back, so must have thought to stick to basics.

Nevertheless, the roadster is still a stunner. Looks freaking awesome.

The 3 main rivals are none other than the Gallardo LP560 Spyder, Porsche 911 Turbo Cabrio and Ferrari California. All have similar performance specs and in the same price range.

No. The SLS itself is a direct competitor to the 458 Italia, Gallardo LP560 and the MP4-12C. All these cars have about 560bhp(except the McLaren that has 600 horses). I was talking about the SLS roadster competition. There is no 458 spyder yet.

I like the fact that they went in the soft-top direction.
