Lets hope Mclaren manages to run all the updates they are bringing this time around.

Really waiting for Schumacher to shine, pray that happens soon!

Cheers

Soon is nothing but this race. One more failure or result where Rosberg is going to beat Schumi easilly should given enough motivation for Schumi to retire.

I fear the worst. Like in the case of Tiger woods.

Re: F1 2011 - Circuit De' Catalunya Spain

Pirelli's new super hard tyres have come in for criticism from most drivers. Tyre degradation could be a major factor in the race and with an increased DRS window, the usually dull Spanish GP could get a lot more interesting..

Re: F1 2011 - Circuit De' Catalunya Spain

Seems like this time too - its going to be a repeat of the last few races... Red bull 1, McLarens 2, Renault or Ferrari 3 - add a few changes to 3 - May be Mercedes!

F1 was never this predictable. Though one could say it was, during Schumi's hay days, it still had a different level of excitement! There never was a dull moment!

Webber' last 4 results this season: 5, 4, 3, 2.

Come on Mark, Go for it!

And with new regulations on engine management for the blown diffuser, you never know what will happen from Monaco onwards.

Re: F1 2011 - Circuit De' Catalunya Spain

Force India are in a continuous downward spiral with their 'updates,' after they lost a 'key' man from their technical team to Sauber, just as Sauber is in a upward spiral.
Now they are nothing more than a target for the lowest three teams, Lotus, Virgin, and HRT, to overcome.
Unless Mallya can improve his technical team, he should sell it off. my two-bit worth.

Re: F1 2011 - Circuit De' Catalunya Spain

Very surprising that MS did not put up a timing in Q3.

Is it a genuine mistake or is it any Strategy......?

Was happy with his P1 in Q2....

Webber put Vettel behind and maybe it will set a new trend.

Re: F1 2011 - Circuit De' Catalunya Spain

So Webber gets one back on Vettel at last. Lewis will be hoping to get off to a good start, given that he is on the good side of the track. And what a stellar lap by Alonso! The Force Indias have slipped back a bit, hopefully their tyre strategy should work in their favour on sunday.

Why Schume did not go for Q3. I believe he was fastest in Q1.

Re: F1 2011 - Circuit De' Catalunya Spain

Michael didnt set a time on choice. He went out anyways on Hard tyres and then pitted. All 9 guys ahead of him will start on Softs.Guys who didnt make it to Q3 too would start on Hard like him.He has saved a set of Softs and could well be in running for a P4\P5 finish tomorrow

Re: F1 2011 - Circuit De' Catalunya Spain

It seems that the super hard got by Pirelli for this race is fairly disastrous so am not surprised by Schumi's decision to save the softs . Of course , I think that he is practical and did not do it with an eye to the podium but rather try to salvage the best that he can.

Red Bulls again tops .. only way the race can now become interesting is if it rains ...the red bull sweep is becoming boring !

Re: F1 2011 - Circuit De' Catalunya Spain

The Redbulls seem to be too far out in front for anyone to seriously hope to catch them during the race (barring incidents). Most likely, the Redbulls will be on a race of their own. Would be interesting to see if Alonso can beat the McLarens in the race.

Btw, I think the pics of the circuit in the OP are old.

Now this was surprising. I was wondering what did they do to that rear wing for FIA to ban it. Anyways this is a setback to Ferrari and it is going to be just another race with Redbulls flying away from the start and the rest fight for crumbs! :(
