Re: Steve Slater's blunders during commentary

Oh! no, that is bad news for me. He is the one among few who helped me glued to F1 since 1998. The technical insight he shared about F1 was amazing at that time when internet was picking up.

Will miss you Steve and your "Five red lights illuminate and they go"!

Cheers!

Re: Steve Slater's blunders during commentary

The blunders very much there. He used to go wrong almost every race. But that chap made the countdown give you goosebumps and thrill through out, his energy was there in every race he commentated. Will miss him and his blunders. Hopefully another energetic person takes over else the races will "seem" boring.

Agree with you. Of late I am not much into F1 but try to watch MotoGP sometimes. I have always loved Nick Harris' commentary. He brings in a lot of energy and entertainment. Sometimes he too goofs up. But he's enjoyable.

Guys we are getting Sky Sports F1 commentary. Anything to complain? I enjoyed though I'll miss Slater.

Yes, I noticed that too. It was a pleasant pleasant surprise
Hopefully it's here to stay! Maybe folks at ESPN-Star saw this thread and sent him packing.

Re: Steve Slater's blunders during commentary

It was so good to hear some quality commentary while watching F1 on TV.

After a long time I have watched F1 on TV, but still the ads are quite annoying and can take away the pleasure of watching uninterrupted action.

Re: Steve Slater's blunders during commentary

Fantastic ! We have Martin Brundle and David Croft, along with people like Ted Kravitz giving us direct inputs from the pitlane, instead of the Doordarshan style studio commentary from Steve Slater, and we're complaining ??

Re: Steve Slater's blunders during commentary

I am relieved to hear the new voices commentating on F1 weekends now. Ive had earlier experience of listening to Brundle and Kravitz in the UK on ITV. Brundle with past F1 experience really gives an insight in to any situation in the race.

I do miss the screaming and shouting that Steve Slater used to show in his commentary. The opening line was epic. Having been used to that for so many years, its weird listening to the subdued intro that we have heard in the last two races. Quick question - Why isnt Steve Slater in the studio even?

Hope to hear from you soon Slater.
