SILVERSTONE DATA

Race Date: 10 Jul 2011
Number of Laps: 52
Circuit Length: 5.891 km
Race Distance: 306.227 km
Lap Record: 1:30.874 - F Alonso (2010)

9th GP of the season and as usual RedBull and Vettel looking all set to seal the WDC and the Constructors:I Rule:

As on date, none are able to be as consistent as the Red-Bulls, forget the stray challenges here and there.

About the track, Silverstone is built on the site of a World War II Royal Air Force bomber station, and is the Home for British Grand Prix.

Hope this race does not end up being a boring one as the last one..:thumbs up

The uncertainty over the pecking order at Silverstone is quite similar to the what everybody goes through at the start of the season. While the teams are being pratical as to how much time will be lost under the new rules, they are being optimistic as to how much it will affect them in comparison to the other teams.

I feel the biggest gainer will be Ferrari and the biggest loser - Renault.

Also looking forward to how Ricciardo goes in the HRT.

I feel the same.

Hoping for some change in the race, getting tired of watching Red Bull win so much. Hopefully, things should be a little different this weekend. please:

We need a matador to tackle the bulls.
Alonso is the only one who can do it, if he gets the proper car.

Loius will be under tremendous pressure.
In fact the whole McL team, as usual, here.
I DO wish for a resurgence, against the bull-ish dominance, but i feel now its too little, too late......
But anyway, gives me a good reason for a weekend at a restaurant, screaming at a telly.

Silverstone to have one DRS zone, with the zone being positioned from just after turn four to include the turn five kink and the Wellington straight on the run down to Brooklands, which will be turn six on the new track layout.

Looking forward to this race.

Redbulls time yet again to fly on wings!!!

I wonder if Force India will perform as good or better than previous. And finally, race timing perfect for a sunday afternoon, no more staying up late till Monday morning and taking sick leave from office :)

First Practice.

Track Wet.
Cant read much in these conditions, everyone set their best lap on the intermediate tyre.
Webber fastest at the very end. 1:46.603 compare that to Vettel 2010 Pratice1 1:32.280.

Most of the cars running flo-viz paint on their diffusers & other main aerodynamic parts to check but sure would not be able to get the type of information they would have liked.

Let hope for a dry Second Practice. :thumbs up

Wet track, and Schumacher becomes the second fastest on track!

Wonder what will happen if Second Practice goes dry and sunny

Second Practice.

Wet Track again. Worst them 1st Practice.

Not much to say..
Massa make the most of the best time on track with a 1:49.967 lap.

Hope Practice doesn't suffer the same fate. The Verdict for the Hot / cold blown diffuser will have to wait until tomorrow.

It took me quite sometime to come to terms with the new track layout while watching the qualifying.
The start-finish point is now in the straight after turn 18 of the older track. The new layout also has a really long pit entry. Will be interesting to see how this affects the race. But i feel the older track's start-finish leading into the maggots-beckets-chapel was best.

Edit:
Redbull still the team to beat. Front row again locked by the bulls, with Webber ahead this time. Di Resta puts Force India in 6th.

Rain will play a major role for tomorrows race.:)

I only hope it does not washout Silverstone.

Qualifying was Sad.

The rain made qualifying almost a lottery.
Webber, Vettel, and Alonso, are within about a tenth of a second.

Sutil was unlucky in Q2 because of rain, on the other hand di Resta did very well in Q3 because of the rain.

It does seem that Force India have started to get some improvements on the car at last.

on the contrary qualifying was the best of the season :thumbs up; also really that car redbull shows even without off throttle blowing they seem to be good for others.

After all the hoopla Mclaren seems to be suffering the most; pity Hamilton though

Along with Renault, Mclaren seem to be adversely affected by the throttle blowing regs.
Given a dry race, Alonso should take the win.
