Re: F1 2011 - Germany -Nurburgring

This is going to be a crucial race for Ferrari/Maclaren. But, with FIA giving green flag to the off blown diffusers use, (which Redbull's RB7 depends heavily on) the Bulls might have a higher hand.
But, will the Ferrari able to pull up another show as they did in 2010? Lets wait and hope that this will be as interesting as British GP!

I really dont see any chances of Alonso nor Ferrari making up to the top of the WDC or the Constructors..

Look at where they stand

WDC

1] - 204 - Sebastian Vettel
2] - 124 - Mark Webber
3] - 112 - Fernando Alonso
4] - 109 - Lewis Hamilton
5] - 109 - Jenson Button

CONSTRUCTORS

1] - 328 - RedBull-Renault
2] - 218 - Mclaren Mercedes
3] - 164 - Ferrari

I can see Mclaren Mercedes getting close to the Constructors, but Ferrari are 1/2 way down the mark..

Though Vettel has been flawless (except for one corner at Canada where Jenson got by!)
He has the makings of a great champion no doubt.
Hope red bull, ferrari and mclaren provide Seb, Alonso and Lewis with competitive cars for an all out battle between the 3!
The other interesting one will be Rosberg vs Kubica (doubt Renault and Mercedes will be in the same league as the top 3 in the next few years atleast)
Sorry

Back to Germany, the potential for overtaking in the DRS zone seems to be limited given the high speed corners that precede it.
There is rain foreast!

With the exhaust-engine mappings back to the Valencia setting, I do expect Red Bull and McLaren to be much stronger.

True...Both Alonso & Hamilton If I am not wrong soon after Valencia had decal red themselves out of the title race.
But yes with the new rule coming in can make the upcoming races interesting , But yes the Winner is almost concluded...here.

I am really surprised with the Team Lotus announcement and especially the timing. Guys what are the chances he may race for the Indian GP? Another trick in the trade by Mr. Ecclestone?

Re: F1 2011 - Germany -Nurburgring

Ferrari show very good pace in FP1 & FP2. Alonso showed consistent time with both rubber over the longer stints and the fastest laps coming towards the end of those stints. And Massa is up there as well and we all know Felipe is just as fast when he has a good car under him. So, it shows Ferrari is getting there.

Like I posted in the Silverstone thread, Ferrari wouldn't have agreed for the off-throttle EBD had they not been comfortable with it. And is all out to prove that the Silverstone win was no one-off because of the off-throttle EBD ban.

It may be a case of too little too late for the season, but at least we have a chase now!

Also, Ferrari is praying for a dry weekend. Alonso urges Ferrari to start taking risks to catch Red Bull - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com

Re: F1 2011 - Germany -Nurburgring

Nurburgring track seems a little boring to me.. Maybe Qualifying is like that.

Cant really make out what excitement the track will throw for tomorrows race ?

If the rain gods throw in a little rain, i hope so.!

Re: F1 2011 - Germany -Nurburgring

Jenson Button..! -RETIRED Sad luck, he looked good though.

RBR looks vulnerable in this race, all thanks to Hamilton But why did they get him to do that 3rd pitstop..? He still beat Alonso.

Mercedes GP not yet there.

What a race by Force India Adrian Sutil... Fantastic.

AND ON A GERMAN GRAND PRIX, NO GERMAN DRIVER on the Podium..
