Yeah, I know its 24 hours too early, perhaps due to some twist of fate he might not even be crowned champion tomorrow, but his qualifying performance again today was just, absolutely flawless. I dont know where he always finds those extra 3-4 tenths from. This season he has been churning out super performances like a bloody machine ! One of the best and most consistent exhibitions of flawless racing I've seen in F1.

He has certainly established his dominance over this grid. Hamilton and Alonso better step up or they will be left in the sidelines while this young German starts off another machine like domination like his idol Michael Schumacher between 2000-2004.

Legend is too strong a word for him right now. He is phenomenal. Legend? I think we need to see him for a few more years before calling him that.

Whoa..the superlatives have started flowing already it seems. He is a great driver no doubt. Legend? Not yet.

Not to take away anything from his achievements, but he has had the best car in the last 2 years. I would like to see him battling Alonso, Hamilton and maybe Kubica/Rosberg on more equal terms and win championships. And that is an enticing prospect!

He is certainly a legend in the making ! He was always lightning quick , now he has added a cool calculative mind to his armoury which is a frightening prospect for his opponents

Anyone can be a double world champion. A legend, That will take a long time. We thought Alonso, mika would be legends but in two season they fizzled out. Only time will tell. Future Formula1 rules and regulations will make sure that doesnt happen.

I would rate Vettel brilliant and a potential legend in the making. He is simply driving in a different level - best car or not

I remember having a similar discussion about MS after his first two championships on AtlasF1 forum in 1996 and getting butchered by forum veterans..indeed MS did become a legend.

Its too early guys. We need to see him winning some races by overtaking and not be in the pole position every time. Currently he is in the best car and nobody to compete with him. Lets see when he has good competition and how he handles the pressure

I think its too early to call him in legends.
No doubt he is certainly a good, consistent driver with a good car. The difference is "Good Car". It is far more easy to score the brownies when you have the good car. It still remains to be proven what would he deliver in a average car.

Personally, I would rate Alonso much higher than him, but still even Alonso is still not legend yet.

I would prefer to call him a whizkid rather than a legend.

But on the flip side, this brings up the question

1. Is is him or is that RedBull head and shoulders above the rest

2. Is Webber really so bad that he cannot get the same results.


But overall, he's a master qualifier and a good racer.

Honestly, I dont think Vettel is any sort of legend. We've seen him lacking battling skill and even cracking under pressure on one occasion. His dominance is definetly about 60-70% the car. Not to say he is a bad driver but the RBR is phenomenally fast this year. On the other hand if someone said Adrian Newey is a bit of a legend I'd have to agree.

Legend. Let him at least lift 5 championships first. Legends in making, OK if there was Red Bull cars available for top five drivers then Alonso, Jenson, Lewis and the only real legend driving (MS) would have been winning many races. Vettel is a good racer. We can call him phenomenal when he starts fighting with those mentioned above driving equally good cars. RB had benefited hugely from pre-resourse restriction agreement and an era after double diffuser (which Brown interpreted different from other teams) which had a consistent technical regulations. RB may dominate yet another year(50% chance) which don't have any major regulation change. But I believe Ferrari and Mercedes will bring race winning cars next year and the exhaust moving from sides to back will hold RB shear pace (end to hot blown diffuser)

More than a legend, i would rather call Seb as clam and cool headed driver and call the Red Bull Car Legend as its miles away from the competition, leaving Sliver Arrows and the Scuderia in the dust.
