BRAVO, Indian F1 organisers!!

That was an excellent race, especially for a first time venue. India have done what many skeptics (aka English media) thought we would struggle at. They have made a F1 venue at record pace, a brilliant track that all drivers love, well organized (at least from a TV spectators view point), no un toward incidents which goes to the security set up by the local authorities and organizers.

Bravo to all the individuals behind this:

Jaypee group: For having the foresight and taking the financial risk in this venture. When most countries have governments organizing the race, spending public money, India was a private venture and not to mention the bureaucratic road blocks. Well done Jaypee group, hope you reap the benefits.

Hermann Tilke: For designing a great racing circuit and not a white elephant aka Abu Dhabi, China, Qatar......those guys must be so envious. Once the drivers get more experience on this track (read 2012) they will take far more risks in the many overtaking opportunities available.

Vicky Chandhok: He must be proud all the efforts have paid off

Indian GP Stewards: The unsung heroes, never did anyone mention the stewards were found wanting. We have learnt the facilities provided were not great, it doesn't pay but you guys do it out of pure love for the sport, Thank You. Also the stewards from Qatar.

Vettel: For spoiling any hopes of drama with a straight forward victory.

Amazing Race!! So proud...sniff!!!

Re: BRAVO, Indian F1 organisers!!

Well after all the tax waivers the F1 organizers got, that was the least they could do!!

Anyways Bravo to the organizers. Job well done.

Re: BRAVO, Indian F1 organisers!!

It was a strategic move to get Ms Mayawati up there!!

After holding this event we need to ensure we do not get an burri nazzar!!

Special mention also to "sideways" - Farhan Vohra who was the chief clerk of the course and responsible for getting the track into shape and compliance

Re: BRAVO, Indian F1 organisers!!

It was a great race day! A very proud feeling!

But yeah, Vettel didn't leave any place for drama.
And on a different not, some great driving from Schumacher!

Re: BRAVO, Indian F1 organisers!!

Great work by the BIC team / organizers. Deserves praise. Job well done. For once its good to hear everyone -read not just Indian media- say so much positive about an event organized here, that too an event of such magnitude. Show how much effort the organizers put into the event.

compare the success of the F1 with the CWG mess. says something about private organisations vis-a-vis that of kalmadi and boys.

Re: BRAVO, Indian F1 organisers!!

+1. Makes my hair stand on end. Dreamnt of this when I was a kid watching races on Prime Sports in the early nineties.

Full marks to Jaypee Group. Credit also to Indian motorsports and the fans who have flocked to watch F1. We have too much cricket anyway!

After the CWG fiasco, New Delhi needed an image overhaul. F1 maybe the answer. There were niggling issues, but most of those came from the dreaded Indian Redtape and had nothing to do with the organisers.

Hopefully those idiots will come to their senses and help host bigger, better and smoother F1 races in the future.

Re: BRAVO, Indian F1 organisers!!

Bravo indeed!

They have made us all proud. I really wanted to attend the first Indian GP but was a bit too held up. Really looking forward to the 2012 season.

Lastly, a big congrats to Vettel. Attaboy!

I'll violate the BHPian rule that bars "single-line no-value addition" posts. The F1 event was amazing. "Congratulations" appears such a frugal sentiment.

Re: BRAVO, Indian F1 organisers!!

The moment I saw Sachin waving the flag, heaved a sigh of relief. So much was stake and am really glad that the event went off in such a smooth way.

Kudos to everyone associated with conducting the race & making it possible

It was the 1st full F1 Race I watched after a gap of 3-4 years.

Can't wait to see their two wheels counterpart filling up the grid (Moto-GP & WSBK)

Re: BRAVO, Indian F1 organisers!!

Did Jaypee group not acquire the land from the UP government? If so, it makes sense to have Ms.Mayavati giving away the prizes. In one way, she played a more important role in the construction of the circuit than any of the other political parties.

Without her blessings this track/land acquisition/event would not have been possible.
