That seems to be a very tricky corner, why was he attempting to do it sideways? Maldonado seems to be byword for 'Crash'. Takuma Sato anyone??

Karma theory mateys !!!

What goes around comes around, if you bump into everyone on the track and say that's normal , this is what happens .
I am watching in glee .

Replying in the original F1 2012 thread as this is OT in the Hamilton to Mercedes thread

That said, he's good yeah, but not great. Am pretty sure had he started with a mid field team or a back bencher like most rookies, he would have been booted long back.
You may not like Lewis as a driver, but attributing race / ethnicity as the reason for his success is so wrong. If pleasing a population is what F1 is looking for, the likes of Chandhok, Kartikeyan, or someone from PRC would have been driving for the top teams. More than ethnicity, his rise in F1 may inspire some to get into the sports, compared to some of those who need to pump in money to stay in the driver’s seat.

True, good talents will get noticed eventually. For e.g.; Sauber was not really touted as a top end team, but Perez still manage to shine through.

Yes, I am indeed happy that Kimi got back into the scene, and is still in the mix for WDC. Not a fan of Schumacher either, but quite happy that he got back into the scene. And he is doing pretty well with the available resources. F1 needs characters like Schumacher, Kimi, or even Hamilton. It makes the show much more entertaining.

I did not say he was successful because of his color, but that his opening ticket was in part dependent on it. He grabbed the opportunity with both hands, there is no denying that and almost stunned the grid in the first season itself.

India is not a major F1 market, atleast not till now. Remember we did not even have a GP till bout a year back. Chandok, Kartikeyan, no chance.

Some interesting news.

McLarens $49 million fine for stealing from Ferrari is tax deductible.

Custom issues could hinder championship rivals in Indian GP

"It [India] is the most awkward race of the year in that respect, so everything - like the way the carnets are arranged - needs to be done thoroughly.

"Everything needs to go in freight from here to India, and it is very difficult to add anything to that from source."
It is a shame on Indian Customs. They believe that any parts which shipped outside Carnet will be sold in Gaffar Market.

We did everything to make F1 happen in India. But still we cannot say that Formula1 is a ultimate pinnacle when it races in Indian soil. A situation like on Thursday a Merc engineer screaming "eureka" running out of his factory with a piece of body work which can add few tenths can never tested on Friday nor raced on Sunday, ridicules

Cheers!

Re: The 2012 Formula One Season

Is there a separate thread specific to the Dilli F1 or is this the one encompassing everything that is F1 of 2012. Just wanted to know if there is anyone attending the race next weekend or has the interest worn off already.

Re: The 2012 Formula One Season

During my regular morning rounds on ESPN sports websites, found something quite interesting.
Have a look at the circled part, most popular names searched – Kimi and J. Michibata. Kimi’s name is not a surprise, but Jessica...!

Re: The 2012 Formula One Season

Interesting news update:

McLaren to swap Merc for Honda?

It now appears McLaren are looking to replace Mercedes as they are not happy to stump up the £8million that the manufacturer is asking for their engines from next season, Japanese car manufacturer Honda - who was McLaren's supplier when they dominated the sport in the late 80s early 90s - is the likely replacement.

Source: http://planetf1.com/driver/18227/818...erc-for-Honda-

Is this the return of the old days again, McLaren-Honda F1 team, if it is so then wish Aryon Senna was still around and expect more fireworks from Sergio Perez or he has a lot of work to do in order to get that Honda Engine to sync with the car.
