2012 F1 Cars Unveiled

Mclarens the first of the teams to unveil their Challenger car for the 2012 season.

The car is named - MP4-27.
Driver 1 - Jenson Button
Driver 2 - Lewis Hamilton

Guys , can someone throw in some technical inputs regarding the 2012 cars.

There are some interesting changes in the 2012 season, but boring nonetheless.

A few of them that i can recollect are:

Ban of high grade / exotic engine mappings
Off-Throttle blown diffusers banned. In order to prevent teams from circumventing this ban, the FIA has banned the practice of blowing exhaust gases over body parts to improve down force. Interesting!
The maximum allowable height of the car nose has been reduced (do not recollect the values)
The cars must pass mandatory crash test before being allowed to even test, the kind of delay that struck Ferrari

These are some of the technical changes, there are other changes that inflict sporting regulations.

Boy, the McLaren looks the part , I would say. Waiting for the prancing horse.
When is it being launched ?

The F2012 is launched.

The name sounds right and the suspension feature pull-rods at both the front and rear.

But the car looks very awkward with that step on the nose. I won't complain if its fast though.

The front wing will change for sure.

But oh that nose! The car is not aesthetically appealing at all. Was it a last minute addition to lower the front wing? I hate to say this, but the sweeping nose of the MP4-27 looks much better.

The rule that has caused a lot of the cars to have this ugly stepped nose. The Caterham, Force India and now Ferrari. They all have it. Yuck.

Downright ugly is the word for Ferrari and VJM05.
BTW what is the name for this year's Ferrari (F151 ??)

What's more interesting is that TCS is no longer an official partner or sponsors for the 2012 season. Have Ferrari and TCS parted ways?
