FIA fail to find promoters & Broadcasters for WRC

A extremely sad day for rallying enthusiasts.

Find below a report which highlights the sad state of affairs on top of the worlds premiere rallying league. FIA says they have failed to find a promoter or / and broadcaster for WRC 2012.

I personally find rallying more fun than F1.

Lets hope the crisis is resolved quickly.

Thats really really sad news.
It just shows that now-a-days sports is all about TV eye-balls and nothing else matters.
Unfortunately, this is the way most of the rallying around the world will go because unlike circuit races it is very difficult to broadcast a rally live on TV and make it entertaining.

I really hope some revolution comes forth in this regard.

Re: FIA fail to find promoters & Broadcasters for WRC

This is a huge shame. I used to love the high quality WRC highlights broadcast that they used to show on ESPNStar. It is used to be odd hours though.

WRC didn't come out of the 2008 recession well. Many big manufacturers left the sport and now this. And I am very surprised. Jean Todt is a great leader and he should do his utmost to save WRC.

For the time being, some action can be found here. World Rally Championship - Video

As a bonus you can see all the legendary rally cars in action at Spa in Belgium

I think they need more crashes to promote it. How about introducing some guinea pig cars to promote the sport.
