Long straights. So again we should be seeing dominance by Mercedes & McLaren team . One Driver team "Ferrari" will struggle to be in top 5.

Whats the black smoke behind the McLaren - Oil well or a riot

I was reading the editorial few days back at espnf1 and the point made was very clear - you cannot expect moral right or wrong here at F1. There is no place for that . Everything has to be on/by the book or nowhere you can find anything related to gentleman's agreements here. Because what is not documented as a rule will be applied. Be it the super DRS or the blown diffuser during the Brawn F1 couple of years back.

So if the FIA feels that the track is safe, It is safe. Period. No other team is going to counter that.
Coming back to racing, I am putting my money on McLaren. RBR will be close and so will Mercedes as long as they start from Pole.

Merc might start from pole again with their super DRS. But Bahrain is going to be hot. They will run into tyre wear issues there. I see them falling back. If racing is as close as it was in China and they will be out of top 10.

I predict a Mclaren win.

I think its difficult to predict anything this season. Pirelli mentioned that Mercedes understanding and use of tyres was better than any other team at China, which says a lot for a team that was struggling with tyres just 3 weeks ago.

I think the only reasonable prediction we can make at the moment is that Mclaren will be somewhere near the top or at the top. Where Mercedes / Red Bull / Lotus / Sauber will be is anybody's guess and depends on how well they set up their car around the tyres.

I think a Schumacher backlash is due . He'll be restless to get off the mark well this year, knowing that he has a potential race winner in his hands. I'm keenly watching the Schumacher vs Rosberg battle.

Schumacher vs Rosberg will be interesting but a long due battle anytime can burst is Hamilton vs Anycar on Track - Including himself. Till when Hamilton can resist and drive safe or is he changed?

Re: 2012 F1 - Bahrain Grand Prix

This year is going to be firsts for Bahrain - the DRS and ofcourse Pirelli. We have never seen them there. Added to that would be the ubiquitous sand.
Its gonna get messy, dare I say ?

Shame about the protests.
Though I agree with the FIA not to get involved politically.

The FOM should withdraw only once safety for personnel becomes an issue they cant handle.

Looking forward to the race.

Things doesn't look good for F1 in Bahrain.
Really wished FIA would boycotted the event.

Force India Crew were caught up in the riot and were lucky to escape unhurt. One mechanic has already headed home.

Re: 2012 F1 - Bahrain Grand Prix

Its sad that F1 went back to Bahrain when the situation is not so good! There are not many good news thats coming from rest of the paddock either.

Hope it will be safe weekend for all at Bahrain!

The way I see it, this race should not have taken place, considering the political turmoil the country is in. Sadly its all about money for the organizers as well as Bernie. Not having the race would have meant huge losses for everyone. But it is not fair to the teams as they are the one who are in a situation which could go bad very quickly.

And you cant blame protesters, they are only fighting for their freedom.

Coming to the racing, I think Mercedes and Mclaren will be on top and i would not be surprised if sauber is among the top guns(atleast in quali). Ferrari will again be in a terrible situation of hardly getting one car in to q3 and with dry conditions expected, even alonso will struggle in the race oververtaking slower cars who have a good straight line speed.

As per tata Sky schedule this morning the qualifying is not live on ESPN-HD, only on Star Sport (non-HD).
