It's official! Pinnacle of motorcycle road-racing, MotoGP, will make its Indian debut at the Buddh International Circuit next year as the opening round of the 2013 MotoGP season, starting in the month of March

Pity we won't get to see Casey Stoner though.

There was also another thread which the World superbike championship was to come to India. Any updates on that front? Seems like the BIC is becoming a busy place to be in! 3 top notch racing series not to mention a few other GT racing series which are all on their way to India.

SBK was confirmed a while ago. BIC might even host the opening round of the MotoGP event going by reports on this page:

Although i don't follow MotoGP and SBK as much as WRC or other sports; this is indeed a very good news and for all the budding bikers from TVS/Yamaha teams, it would be a very good opportunity for them to grow up from the Indian scene to international one.

Casey Stoner is leaving MotoGP after this season because he 'doesn't like where is sport is headed.' Sad that Indians won't get to see him in action.
