Re: 2012 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand prix - Yas Marina Circuit

Today, there was an article in the Hindu sports column by Steve Slater about how Ferrari skipped on bringing some development parts into India because of the menace we have here in the name of Indian Customs. A disappointed Alonso after losing in the Qualifying responded to Pat Fry's post Q comments as Alonso tweeted that his now against Newey.

Interesting! So we should see the new DDRS wing and exhaust changes in Abu Dhabi from the Ferrari team...?

Mind games, sheer confidence in his abilities and expected updates to the car. I sincerely wish that the title fight goes to the last lap at Interlagos :-)

F1 event of no national significance - when global viewership is in the range of 600-800 million. I don't know what these guys are on. You don't want to give them tax breaks - fine (and you shouldn't) but at least help in logistical matters. Idiots!

Re: 2012 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand prix - Yas Marina Circuit

Red Bull's DRS gives them a 10km/hr advantage compared to 4 for Ferrari, causing their supremacy in Qualifying. The gap is so big, that even a mistake in Q3 will not be enough to keep them off the front row.

With Vettel leading every lap for the past 3 races, and expected to go on.
Reliability is the final frontier.

@SkySportsMike: Ferrari broke the curfew for the first time this season last night, presume they've been busy bolting new bits on the car #skyf1 #AbuDhabiGP

Apparently, lots of updates have been brought by Ferrari to Abu Dhabi (New front & rear wing, new monkey seat & exhaust).

Its going to be battle royal in the last three races, goes well with this picture!

Re: 2012 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand prix - Yas Marina Circuit

The first day was exciting.
It was autograph session, meeting Micheal Schumacher, Nicole, pictures with them and pit walk.
Got a chance to see the boys in action with the car.

The best part was we got an opportunity to talk to The Legend Schumacher a lovely person indeed.

Will post the some photos. Got to reduce the size of the image before I post.

Vettel tops FP2. Ferrari looks to be in trouble.

And McLaren looks quick in here. If they split the RedBull and Ferrari on Sunday, it will be game over for Alonso.

This is really crazy. How can the gap be so big? Is the Ferrari heavier? They all look so similar from normal eyesight. How could the Ferrari have more drag?

And the engine output is all more or less the same right, what's the variable here?

That is more or less the usual range of difference between straightline speeds between similar level of teams, no?

Have no clue, is it? Well i knew there was a difference but I had no idea Red Bull was gaining that much.

Yes, the difference is quite large, which Ferrari are trying hard to correct.

Intrinsically, the RB produces the most downforce (and low drag) and is among the lowest in top speed while the Ferrari is among the highest. Therefore the DRS effect on the RB is much more than the Ferrari.

The RB is also aided by their DDRS system which Ferrari dont have.

Ferrari broke curfew for the second night in a row, their second of four exemptions. Hoping Hamilton and Button to stop the RedBull party..

Alonso finished 8th in FP3,doesn't look good for him.Lets wait and see, what is in store for us during qualifying.

Re: 2012 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand prix - Yas Marina Circuit

And there goes Alonso's chance at the title. Even Williams had a car that was faster -_-.

Don't know what Ferrari was doing all night, this is really disappointing stuff. What were those "upgrades" and "100% confident I will win" that Ferrari and Alonso were speaking of?

Their entire technical staff should commit suicide out of embarrassment. Does it ever occur to them that they are being beaten by a company that makes sugar water?
