Re: 2012 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand prix - Yas Marina Circuit

Hamilton P1, Webber P2, Vettel P3, Maldonado P4, Kimi P5, Button P6, Alonso P7, Rosberg P8, Massa P9, Grosjean P10.
Hulkenberg P11 and di Resta P13 for SFI

Unless Mayhem Maldonado does what he is good at, Vettel should practically wrap up his title.

" Hamilton dwarves the rest to clinch pole" - formula1.com

What a brilliant qualifying session from Hamilton! Redbulls just couldn't catch up with him.Unless something dramatic happens tomorrow, Alonso can kiss the championship goodbye.

Brilliant run by Hamilton!

There is a bit of hope for Alonso, as Vettel is being investigated for stopping the car on the trackside. But then, Alonso & Grosjean was also under scrutiny for unsafe release from pitlane.

Indeed a laudable Qualifying by Hamilton.
He just wiped the competition. I expected Alonso behind the wheel of the Prancing Horse to take the pole today but sadly he is quite down the list. Desperately want the title battle to go on till the last lap in Brazil.
Hoping for a good race tomorrow and a good show from Alonso like he did at the BIC.

Maldonado behind Vettel, this is going to be interesting. Vettel will be nervous for sure knowing Maldonado's history.
Alonso really needs a good start from P7 to challenge Vettel for the Championship.
Hulkenberg finished P5 in FP3 but couldn't repeat this performance in the Qualification.

I am disappointed with the way Ferrari did today in the Qualifying.

I am hoping for some miracle in tomorrow's race if not its game over for Alonso & Ferrari!

Vettel might just be in trouble for stopping his car on track at end of Q3.

Thanks, I have been following that closely.

Horner has been mumbling around in the paddock about a issue with the fuel system. If it was under fueled and even if Vettel gets a reprimand after the usual RB stories he would get a 10 place grid penalty as he already has 2 under his name. If not, he will be sent to the back of the grid just the way Hamilton was sent this year!

Indeed, Seb will start at the back of the grid.
I'm hoping he's taken out(Hey, don't blame me, I'm a Ferrari fan! :P)
I'm hoping for Alonso to win!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!

What a godsend for Alonso. It just doesn't get any better than this !!!!

Also, It looked to me as if they it was being played as a transmission failure?

Shouldn't it be the team to convey that the car should be stopped, instead of having Renault do so?

Re: 2012 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand prix - Yas Marina Circuit

This is a weird one, Horner still claims the car had enough fuel but normal extraction was not possible and some bodywork had to be removed. Thus the penalty. Dont get why.

Ferrari will be kicking themselves.. P6 when Vettel is starting 24th is far from ideal.
This was a great opportunity to collect maximum points, but P3 seems the best that is possible. Barring a miracle ofcourse!

Vettel's climb through the field will be exciting to watch, even though the Red Bulls had the lowest top speed of all in Qualifying, it will be Vettel's first use of DDRS to overtake in the past 4 races!

They must have tweaked Vettel's car since he is starting from the pit lane to give him some more top speed.

The Stewards have ordered vettel to start from the back of the grid. However Redbull has decided to start from the Pit lane.
Does he get any advantage starting from the pit lane?
