2012 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand prix - Yas Marina Circuit

For a circuit designed like a GUN, The most Amazing circuit of the calender without doubt, Waiting to watch the race start in the daylight and end at night

18th race of the season, 2 more remaining, Vettel seems to be going strong and he has performed well througout the year. But here in the last outing he was out of the race due to a Puncture. Yet my favorite is Vettel, want him to seal the WDC with this race.

Although this may sound silly, I think Alonso will bag pole here. If not, regardless of whatever he may qualify, he will win it I think.

After the 2010 nightmare, and seeing his determination and focus at Buddh, I can't even imagine what kind of hunting energy he will be coming to this circuit with.

However, I do wonder how the Ferrari will compete against the Red Bull on a slower circuit, I think they can get the gearing right for the straights, but everything else is a ? .

So here comes the most boring circuit of all. It would also be the most over-rated race if not for the championship battle at hand. The circuit looks spectacular (visually) only because of the structures built around it. I personally am not too thrilled by that tunneling pit exit either. Though it will be very embarrassing for drivers if they were to get it wrong in there.

Overall BOriiing!

Yas Marina in my opinion is boring. For some reason i find myself flipping channels 20 minutes into the race when it is on Yas Marina.

I don’t think any circuits can be really labeled as boring. Unless it’s a Monza or Spa, its basically the race which make the event exciting/boring. Infact in this season I found some of the so called boring circuits (Valencia, Bahrain etc.) produced interesting race.

I actually agree with Pavan. I find the Yas Marina Circuit quite spectacular

What can I say?
I know what and who I am rooting for, but despondency is creeping in.
Lewis is more or less serving notice at face value only it seems.
Button is being mature to the extent that he looks sedate.
And Perez is inspiring NO confidence at all.

Still, in smalls......go lewis....:(

I am saying I will only catch the results post the race, but I know I will be glued to the interweb or the telly throughout.

I salute your unwavering (though diminishing ??) support to Lewis and McLaren, they are like Jensen's last lap (where he set the record). Fast, but not when needed.. RBR will blow every one away.

Fernando will be second. Seb will be first.

I think Hulkenberg would have been a better choice as Lewis' replacement. Perez might be like Montoya - fast and mercurial.

I thank you!
Well, even next year, its still going to be Mclaren, and the years after that.
Its just that next year, the known quantity (button) is not highlighting himself.
and the unknown quantity (Perez) is getting even more anonymous.

But still, I expect one last dance from lewis.

Prepare to surprised(eventually sometime).

Hulk needs one of the top team. Ferrari, McLaren or Red bull, I wish Hulk in Red Bull for 2014 which will really test Vettel’s credentials.

When I think of this circuit, the first thing that comes to my mind is Kimi's opinion of it - something like "The first few turns are quite good, but the rest of it is sh*t."

With the kind of form RB/Vettel is in, I think Vettel will be hard to beat at Abu Dhabi.

Why are you hopeful when he himself gave up !?

Or is this a case of "it aint over till it aint over" ?

Re: 2012 F1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand prix - Yas Marina Circuit

Marca has a championship calculator between Vet, Alo and Kimi. Drag each driver for last three races and WDC is calculated.

http://www.marca.com/2012/10/29/moto...351521561.html

Quite a task for Fernando. If Vettel wins here, its all but over going into the final races. Vettel would simply need a podium in that case in the remaining 2 races, even if Alonso wins the race. I am hoping for Fernando to either win this or Lewis.

Realistically, Fernando simply needs 2 wins and a podium in the remaining races and hope for something bizzare of Mclaren's to spoil Vettel's party.

The championship is Vettel's to lose, Alonso has a chance only if anything abnormal happens to Vettel's weekend.

Otherwise, if anyone can beat Vettel on saturday, things would get interesting. If the RB struggles anywhere thats only in the dirty air, lets see how this pathetic circuit can keep us entertained this weekend!

The question is how is Ferrari going to compete. The car isn't anything like the Red Bull, but Alonso feels 120% confident that he'll be champion ? He isn't one to count to his chickens before they hatch, also I'm just wondering what is giving him that confidence.
