Getting back to the discussion, now while all of us are talking about 2014 season the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix next week will be with track changes. The update in circuit will be at Turn 10 known as the Singapore Sling, the previous three-part chicane is modified to a sweeping left hander which will result in higher apex speed and reduced lap time, the change is bought in due to lack of run-off available on the street. The lap will be around 1 sec faster without the chicane of before.

Just to spice up things, I just hope the dreaded 'Tram' passes correctly under the circuit to switch off both the RB cars
For those who don't remember, here's the link - http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/71251

Of course, Lewis, Alonso and Kimi can share the spoils !

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

With Massa free, methinks SFI should try for him. Unlikely that he will be taken up by Lotus, McLaren or Mercedes. He is definitely much better than either Adrian or Paul, though not in the class of Alonso, Hamilton, Raikkonen or Vettel.

With the financial crunch that Lotus is going through, some Brazilian money wouldn't hurt if Massa can bring some.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Crazy 2013 pit lane talks in buzz again, this time from camp Mclaren,

Fernando Alonso could yet return to McLaren next season after Martin Whitmarsh expressed an interest in re-signing the Spaniard.

Who says pit lane buzz is boring....

Wow, now that would be fun, ain't it. Alonso moving out of Ferrari, quite possible as he is not used to being equal or no. 2 driver and for sure Ferrari will not be having any such differentiation.

Alonso has denied this. Martin Whitmarsh just wants him there!
(inspite of 2007.. now doesnt that tell you something?)

There is no such thing as a No. 2 driver any more. Teams apply logic when wanting to win a Driver's Championship. There is no point a drive 60 points behind his team mate winnings a few points at the cost of his team mate who is fighting to win the WDC.

Mercedes and Lotus have issued "team orders" and Schumacher himself has played "No. 2 driver" in 1999 to try to help his team mate win the Championship. Look it up.

Ferrari were losing out on Constructors points every year. Its time they stepped up to someone of Kimi's talents.

Now, what you are referring to is being unhappy when losing. Show me a genuine World Champion driver who isnt! (I dont consider Button to be in that class)
Niki Lauda even got fired from Ferrari just for complaining too much about the team.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Weber given a ten place penalty for hitching a ride, and both Weber & Alonso warned. Apparently this was Weber's third warning this year.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

I'm struggling to find a reason as to why Alonso would go back to McLaren. McLaren are a midfield team at the moment and IMHO, next year may not be much different. 2015 will see Honda re-enter the sport with McLaren and that will be a big gamble. We can't say how that combo will perform.
Ferrari is not the strongest team at the moment (that will be Red Bull), but they are atleast second. If Alonso has to have a shot at the WDC, he has only 3 realistic choices - Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes. Definitely not McLaren. What about Lotus? Well, they can't pay or afford him.
Alonso has got to learn to co-exist and co-operate with Raikkonen. That's best for him and Ferrari.

Aditya,

If you look at my post 475, Alonso has made it clear that he wants to stay with Ferrari and end his career with Ferrari. It was Mclaren who wanted Alonso for next season.

Ferrari F1 team ready to re-open its wind tunnel in October

Ferrari's wind tunnel will be ready to re-open at the end of October, a move the team believes will wipe out a significant part of its disadvantage to Red Bull.

I hope the money spent will actually help them and kimi in 2014
