Brawn to leave Mercedes after season/

Not unexpected. Too many captains in that ship there. Now what could be his destination? Mclaren - possibly? Ferrari - unlikely? Lotus - big maybe? Williams - only if he's willing to take on a big challenge.

It would be interesting to see brawn back at Ferrari and try to recreate the magic with kimi and alonso as he did it with schumi.

Lotus I doubt as they are under huge financial crisis and can they afford brawn? Same goes to williams as well

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

McLaren seems to be the most likely destination. They have the cash and they would badly need the resources to run 2 teams in parallel for 2014 and 2015. They can afford it too.

There is every chance that the 2015 McLaren is going to be the 'place to be' for a driver, especially if Newey quits F1 after 2014.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

I don't think Ross Brawn wants to accept any role less than Team Principal at the moment. Mercedes believes that the concept of Team Principal is outdated. Toto Wolff and Paddy Lowe will run the Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team in tandem.
So where can Brawn go? For 2014, Martin Whitmarsh isn't leaving McLaren. Christian Horner is not leaving Red Bull. Sauber, Lotus and Williams can't afford him. Ferrari can. But, is Luca di Montezemolo willing to get rid of Stefano Domenicali?
Sources have linked Brawn to Honda's development program and Honda will come to Formula 1 only in 2015. If Ross Brawn does return with Honda, what role would he be likely to play? This also indicates that he might sit out the 2014 season.

Well, Toto Wolff has Williams shares to offload and it is rumored that Brawn may buy those and become part owner of Williams F1. Also rumored that he's been seen at Williams HQ in Grove.

Ferrari, well they just got James Allison and have Pat Fry. Unless they want to replace Stefano or have both Allison & Fry to report to Brawn, I am not so sure Brawn would be interested. And he will have to relocate to Italy.

To celebrate winning the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships for the fourth consecutive year, Red Bull ran one of its cars atop one of the most recognised locations on earth.
Perched 210 metres above the sea, on a helipad just 24 metres wide, the car became the first to run on the Burj Al Arab helipad.

Mirroring Sebastian Vettel's post-race celebration in India - albeit a little higher above sea level and without the fine - David Coulthard completed a number of do-nuts, disappearing in a cloud of tyre smoke, against the stunning backdrop of the Arabian Gulf, overlooking scenic views of Dubai's impressive skyline.

Quantum buy in/sponsorship appears all set to be announced.
Hope this means payday for Kimi and a drive for the Hulk.

Ahead of the introduction of the new V6 turbo formula, staff at Brixworth bade an emotional farewell as the last V8 engine left Mercedes engine HQ.

After last race, the chances for Lotus to close the gap to 3rd in constructors was anyway very low. Hamilton could benefit from this and should finish 3rd in WDC with 2 races to close the gap.

With Kimi out, championship top 3 is pretty much fixed now:

WCC: RBR-MER-FER
WDC: VET-ALO-HAM

No need to stay up late and watch the last 2 races now; may be Brazil but not US

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Given Lotus' surprise.. this could very well be due to non payment of Kimi's dues..the team had earlier released a US GP preview with Kimi.

GP2 champion Davide Valsecchi is their reserve driver. Remains to be seen if its him or..
The Hulk?.. who's not been paid either and can leave Sauber when he feels like
