Ferrari have been looking at 'next year' for 5 years now. James Allison should make his presence felt for 2014. Mercedes should be up there too.

'Ferrari press conference today at 2pm. Kimi's fate will be revealed. Multiple media outlets have already "knowledge" of a 2 year contract . #f1 #mtv3f1'

Source: AF1/Tweet from Jari Porttila, MTV3 Journo

Meanwhile on the SF FB page, they are ironically remembering today the 10th of September, the day Michael announced his retirement after winning in Monza'06!

Interesting. Very interesting.

Most journalists were talking about an announcement next week, but if it is indeed today, then we are in for some early relief to all this confusion!

EDIT:
Just saw this tweet:

Quote:
Sport Bild : Kimi has signed at Ferrari yesterday before midnight

Kimi to Ferrari almost confirmed news, would be the strongest driver lineup.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Overwhelming news pointing to Kimi. Nothing official yet. Massa has begun hinting at life outside Ferrari so it is most likely he will leave.

Kimi with Alonso will mean having 2 WDCs working together, last time that happened was in the 1950's. A daunting as well as a mouth watering scenario. Nico on the other hand has proven that he is no longer a rookie and very deserving of the 2nd seat.

Big decision for the Chairman to take. Hope he does not stick with Felipe.
Kimi WILL BE stronger than (the current) Massa, Nico SHOULD BE.

Massa confirms he is leaving Ferrari

Quote:
From 2014 i will no longer be driving for Ferrari. I would like to thank the team for all the victories and incredible moments experienced together. Thank you also to my wife and all of my family, to my fans and all my Sponsors. From each one of you I have always received a great support! Right now I want to push as hard as possible with Ferrari for the remaining 7 races. For next year, I want to find a team that can give me a competitive car to win many more races and challenge for the Championship which remains my greatest objective! Thank you all. Felipe

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

I feel sad for Felipe. He seems to be a great guy personally, but with his performance post Hungary incident it was only a matter of time. I'm still surprised Ferrari kept him this long.

My bet is on Hulkenberg to Ferrari next year....if Ferrari takes Kimi, Alonso would feel threatened, so that's my logic.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Awesome! This brings love back into Maranello.

I always felt Kimi got a raw deal in 2010, albeit with a lot of money. And he has unfinished business with Ferrari.

Shows Alonso in good light as well. Maybe he just doesn't care as Kimi just minds his own business. 2007 is when Kimi got his first championship and Alonso got trumped by a new team mate. A repeat anyone?

Hope the 2014 car is worthy of the 2 great drivers. Ferrari hasn't been able to make a monster after the F2008.

Kimi at Ferrari! Wow! Mouth watering season ahead! If Ferrari can provide their champion drivers with a good car, (quite possible with all the upcoming changes) it will be an awesome season! I would like merc also to get their act together because they have the fastest driver in terms of raw pace in Hamilton. This season is boring not because of vettel winning but because of winning leisurely....surely somebody will step up their game next season & hopefully we have an epic battle for the championship.

Nico leaving Sauber is almost certain. Only question is whether he would move to Lotus to fill in Kimi's seat or to Ferrari in place of Massa.

EDIT: On second thoughts, not sure if there is a chance Lotus might look at getting Massa instead of Nico. Its been a while since we saw Massa without team orders to help Alonso.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Where is Jules Bianchi headed ? The guy has too many Ferrari connections to be left out of the picture completely and also too much talent as shown in GP2.

It's a pity Mallya picked Sutil over Bianchi.
