Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Alonso & Kimi riding the prancing horse will be great. With the new engines coming in (with a fuel cap) it is an open country!

Could be that Bianchi is heading for Sauber.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Its a full circle for Kimi. Being a Kimi fan, I am happy but have my apprehensions as well. The top 2 drivers in F1 (for me) in the same team would lead to something like what happened in 2007 with Mclaren - 2 big egos in the same team is a recipe for disaster. I so hope it does not happen and both of them perform independently with equally competitive cars.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Kimi to Ferrari looks a little doubtful, Kimi is not a driver who believes in team strategies, he is HIS OWN DRIVER. Alonso would never want another No.1 driver alongside him.

Does Robert Kubica have any chance in the scheme of things.

Michael Schumacher will not return again....!!!!! I wish he could just come back to Ferrari and add some Glamour to the Boring F1 thats been seen off-late.

Not to worry on the kimi front, because he us one of the most ice cool and decent drivers on the grid. He doesn't react negatively to anything, doesn't post damaging comments nor cries and cribs. He simply lets his driving do the talking & if alonso can't cope with it it's his problem. I guess Ferrari just want to be sure of the constructor's even if they lose the driver's next season. That will ensure a solid base for seasons to come. It will be fun to watch a Ferrari with no team orders & both the garages fighting each other!

It's a pity Mallya picked Sutil over Bianchi.
Lotus will need an experienced driver. I would bet on Hulkenberg.
Massa back to Sauber?

Agreed that Alonso wouldn't like Kimi back in Ferrari but I guess the so called higher management in Ferrari might be looking at the statistics.

Kimi got Ferrari a WDC and 2 WCC during his 3 seasons with Ferrari while Alonso is yet to get them even a single championship in the last 3 seasons. The fact that Ferrari never came up with a competitive car after 2008 might of course be overlooked when folks at Ferrari analyze the data.

There is a high chance the 2014 cars may not be as reliable as the current ones, at least during the first half of the 2014 season. That would give any team with 2 excellent drivers a considerable edge over a team dependent on a single driver.

BTW, remaining 7 races would give Alonso time to warm up to 2014 since Massa is unlikely to step aside for him or offer him a tow anymore.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Curtains for Felipe finally, his oxygen supply has been cutoff by the bosses .
It will be really nice to see how Alonso will react with Kimi. Especially when Kimi is fast and looking at Alonso's gearbox for a long time in the race.
The last time he was throwing toys out of the pram at McLaren and they wanted none of it.

Oh btw, what will Rob Smedley do ? Felipe baby was fine but Kimi darling is not going to take it easy and probably react with I know what I am doing, you keep the Magnum ice cream ready for me after my race ends The turbo might blow up, you know with the new engines....

The movements might be :
Kimi --> Ferrari
Nico H --> Lotus
Felipe Baby --> Sauber

All the others (except the new richie rich at Sauber) stay as is where is ?

Alonso & Kimi is a great pairing, but I just hope it doesn't turn out like Alonso & Hamilton at McLaren.

In 2007, Alonso and Hamilton at McLaren ended up scoring 109 points each to Kimi's 110. It was a sure shot WCC if they were not disqualified. I don't think Ferrari would mind an easy WCC given their current state.

With Alonso and Kimi in the same team, Redbull would also need to focus on both their drivers performing well if they want the WCC. Expect good competition from Hamilton and Rosberg too.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

2014 will be a blank canvas, new engines, fuel restrictions etc. I think Alonso and Kimi complement each other and can deliver.
