MOTO GP was held in France today and it turned out to be one humdinger. Marco Melandri won the Premier Class GP, but not before a lot of swapping of positions of many riders.

The race saw 4 riders take the lead. Pedrosa took pole and was a firm favourite to win the race, but John Hopkins again was the one who started well and stayed in front of Dani. Rossi rode an absolute stunner of a race and claimed the lead after starting from 7th on the grid. Even the commentators said "WHERE DID HE COME FROM!" The battle all had been waiting for - Rossi V/s Pedrosa started though Rossi eventually started pulling away from the new sensation.
However, mechanical failure saw a distraught Valentino Rossi retiring from the race and relinquish the lead back to Pedrosa. Hopkins in the meantime, had slipped and lost his chance of a podium finish in a long time.
Pedrosa's soft tyre choice did not do him any good, as Melandri and Capirossi eventually overtook him as if he were still riding a 250 cc bike as compared to the big boys. Stoner finished an amazing 4th after starting from 12th on the grid, just in front of budding veteran Nicky Hayden.

In the 250s, Yuki Takahashi snatched victory from team mate Andrea Dovizioso in the last corner and a nail biting finish to win his 1st ever 250 cc GP race, but this has just strengthened Dovizioso's stand in the championship table.

Thomas Luthi won the race in the 125s, while Mika Kallio, who seems to be gettting to terms with the bike finally, came second.

Kawasaki and Suzuki have shown amazing improvement this year (which was clearly visible in qualifying by Nakano, De Puniet and Hopkins) in their bikes, and hopefully will keep doing better. However, the curse Rossi had placed on Gibernau last year seems to have fallen upon him this year, but he has still kept scoring points albeit slowly. For all we know, we might still see Rossi on the top of the championship table by the end of the year, if he gets a good bike. Rossi was, is and will always be the man. All the others are just boys.

Damn...it does not seem to be a good year for my champs (Rossi, Raikkonnen and Solberg). :Frustrati

I saw the race. Rossi was shattered by his cruel fate. But, every party has to come to an end. Michael Schumacher's party ended last year. Is it Rossi's turn this year?

Rossi out again, that makes it two in a row cuz i think he also retired from the last race...

Well, everyone has their bad times and now its Rossi's turn...And, abt MS, his bad times look as if they're done.

Rossi is a great racer no doubt. But failures do happen in motorsports, is'nt it? You can't be winning all the time.
MS went thru it last year. And is expected to hit back this year and he's already into his winning spirits again.
Blame it on tech failures, accidents or anything... one cant and one should'nt (for keeping the thrill) always win races after races.

What you guys say?

hey guys,
don't loose hope championship isn't over yet 12 races remaining and we all know " THE DOCTOR" can do anything, he is currently 43 points adrift from leader not a great deal ( ......for rossi if his bike works well..... ) he is disapponted but ......anyway ..let's pray to god for rossi and yamaha so that they can win races as previously they were?

".........plz.....GOD HELP ROSSI & YAMAHA........."

What a finish that was.... almost side by side at the last corner...
Kimi is surely having a bad season.... cant wait for him to get back....

Well a totally dissappointing race for Rossi after taking about 4secs lead to pedrosa ( 2nd ).... but then again Dani's soft tyre choice worked against him....

Maybe Rossi's so tied up with trying to get a seat in F1 that he has forgotten to ride a bike ;)

Obviously watched the race with a keen eye didnt ya??!!
What does his engine failing have anything to do with gettin or not gettin an F1 ride.
He rode brilliantly yesterday,Survived a bump from dani 1st corner , then got to the front, broke Dani's challenenge and was up and away before fate intervened

The doctor is running a bad patch, first of chatter's and now an isolated incident of engine failure....

We will see whether he can turn the stones around...

damn......are u crazy? nobody in motogp can challenge rossi if his bike works well, didn't u remember when rossi jump started and was penaltied 10 sec's even then he finished on podium and guess what????? he was 1st in that race......he was riding honda rc211v. as i said above 12 races remaining don't let the doctor down.......? fortune favours brave and we all know who is bravest in motogp.....that's why 7 times world champion. i think u forget that?

The race was really spectacular. I think moto GP has more excitment to it that F1 specially this year. Mainly, since there is no consistent winner in moto GP, the " new boys" are really good, so it not just dominated by a few drivers like F1. But the Alonso, shcumi fight isn't bad to watch either.
