Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

Lewis Hamilton pole, not sure the in-season testing has anything to do with it. Might see button pull another surprise victory with kimi second and seb third. Alonso possibly 5th. 4th at this time is an unknown to me.

FP1 is going on now and the Mercs are flying. Its too early and FP, but Rosberg is one second clear of the rest of the field, with the exception of Lewis on intermediates. It was raining.

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

di Resta tops the list with Button right behind. And Maldonado puts the Williams on the wall.

Grosjean is third, Alonso fourth and Raikkonen fifth. And more rain expected in FP2.

Would you say it is possible to see an FI on pole here ? The FI car sure is fast, and as you said this is not a very aero demanding circuit..

Can we bet on anything else than a Merc to be on pole nowadays?

It was a drying track towards the end of FP1 and whoever got a good lap towards the very end went fast. I think the Force India was the last to cross the line in the melee caused by the Williams on the wall. But it is FP1 and everyone wouldn't show their hand fully well.

FP2 was totally dry and Alonso narrowly beat Lewis. di Resta had a fuel pump problem and was in the garage.

I meant finishing on pole, but I guess not if Mercedes gained anything from the secret test. My only question is will they go forward the faster the go or will they go backward as they have in Spain ?

If so that leaves us two Grosjean massa alonso kimi vettel and webber. Grosjean and Massa are highly susceptible to not finishing the race for many reasons.

So now we have alonso kimi vettel and webber... I say at least two of these guys can fall back on the grid for many reasons (probably kimi and alonso/webber as they are usually in thick traffic)

Assuming the FI cars are still as good or stronger than McLarens... I think the right cocktail of events, thanks to Perez Maldonado and Grosjean can lead to a podium.

But let's wait for quali... Nothing will give us a forecast like that

It is on Star Sports and ESPN HD. Yesterday, FP2 was not shown on Star Sports only on ESPN HD.
But today, FP3 and Quali will shown on both channels.

Force India has changed the nose on the VJM06. It. Has gotten much less bulkier and more like thinner like the Toro Rosso nose.

Start of FP3 delayed due to barrier repairs. Duration also reduced as there has to be 2 hour gap between two sessions.

Webber finishes in P1 although the order doesn't say much as it was a case of who finishes last on the rapidly drying track, should be an interesting qualifying.

Massa goes again into the barriers. Redbulls are giving tough fight to qualifying specialist Mercedes. Ferrari, struggling to find pace.

I am happy with my boy's performance, go vettel go

EDIT- Yeah, vettel gets the pole, hamilton 2nd and bottas 3rd. Am damn happy, vettel just delivered what needed at correct time. All set for race now

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

Impressive Quali by Bottas, bringing that Williams up to third.
Good drives by both Vettel and Hamilton in tricky conditions. Disappointed by di Resta's performance, only P17, not even in Q2.
Should be an interesting race tomorrow, especially if there are similar changing conditions.
