Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

A Red Bull on pole... I was right!

What a performance by Bottas, and what a good window for Adrian Sutil to finish 4th or 5th tomorrow, it will surely be an interesting race.

By the way, is this proof that Maldonado is a mediocre driver, the conditions were the same for him as they were for Bottas ?

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

Whoa...where did Bottas come from? He certainly seems to like wet conditions! The Redbulls and Mercs got their intermediates to work while Ferrari and Lotus struggled. The race itself should be interesting, given the interchangeable conditions.

The way massa is going on, ferrari will have to introduce the 2014car mid 2013 season!

I've more or less given up on this being anything other than a year of follies from McLaren. I'll still be wearing the shirt at BIC though.

First corner demolitions expected in Canada, though.

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

So, the wet qualifying lottery has given us a very interesting grid for the race.

I hope its bone dry today. Fast cars starting in the back is always fun in a race. Hope there are no incidents though, just plenty of overtakes.

Going to be a extremely exciting race today!
Sadly can't catch it live as I have an exam tomorrow morning so got to get to bed early.
Tata Sky+ HD is on record! Will have to make an effort in the morning to not open Twitter or any F1 related sites so that I can watch it peacefully after the exam!
I think Hamilton has a very good chance for the win if the Mercedes can hold the tires together.

I would have done the same if it was any other exam, but it is my 11th grade Physics board exam so, can't afford to be off my game.

Tough race for Mercedes today.
If they do well, people would say "see! The private tyre test did give them an advantage."
If they don't, it will be "couldn't do much even after a helping hand from Pirelli "

Personally, I think Mercedes wouldn't mind the former as long as they are taking in the points.

# This is my first F1 race with tbhp.
For the record,
Favourite driver : schumi (all time)
Current driver : alonso
Favourite team: Ferrari

My podium prediction for today
1. Hamilton
2. Alonso
3. Vettel / rosberg

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

Mark lost a big chunk of his front wing and he is going faster. Very interesting!

Alonso up to 3rd. 27 laps and about 24 seconds. Can he do it? I am certainly not feeling sleepy.

Edit:
Webber is just flying and seems to be catching Alonso. Vettel off for a bit. Lapse of concentration?

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

What a brilliant race this is turning out to be? Great stuff from Alonso but he is just too far off P1. I hope those 2 nudges from Lewis is okay for the tyres on the Ferrari.

And that was a good call from the stewards on the penalty for Sutil. He definitely slowed both the Merc and Ferrari.

Merc seems to have got a big help from those tests.

Edit:
Well done Vettel! He breaks the ducks in Canada. His first few laps were sublime.

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

Vettel wins with 14+ seconds, Alonso finishes 2nd and Hamilton 3rd.
What was wrong with sutil? He could have finished better without that drive through penalty! Totally unnecessary!

Yes, yes, yes , my boy on the podium, fantastic race from him, he was just flawless today, clear 15 seconds gap. Just love the waving finger on the podium.

Alonso did awesome too, the way he past went hamilton, it was a sight to see. Webber had a bad luck, because of broken wing, but still finished in respectable position.

I am damn happy with today's race.

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

No wonder Bottas wanted it to rain ! That Williams sunk like an anchor !

Drivers of the race for me:
1) Vettel
2) Sutil and DiResta
3) Alonso
4) J.E.V.

I guess this goes to show Mercedes haven't gained from the test ?

LOL Is it just me or are people booing Seb and yelling "AL-ON-SO" ? Montreal seems to be another land of Alonsomania/Ferrarimania.

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

Weber took the fastest lap of the race with that broken wing, a 1:16.182. It didn't seem to trouble him at all and he was pretty fast after losing that end plate.

Maybe Newey should think about saving weight on the wing there.
