2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

Welcome to कनेडा

A high speed circuit, and probably RBR's will make the most out of it. Expecting Force India to do better here. Ferrari might be a threat, but with their lone warrior in Alonso, doubtful they will do any better as a team.

One more reason as to why this will be an interesting race..! Th race starts just at Mid-night and you will have NONE at home pestering you for anything

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

Canada this weekend is going to be excellent!
One of my personal favorite tracks, always brings out some excellent racing.
This weekend I think will be the test for Mercedes. Have they improved their tyre wear or was Monaco just a one-off.
Can't wait!

Good to have you posting back.

This track will really prove how much has Mercedes really improved cuz it cannot be judged based on their performance just at Monaco.
As Mercedes said "This weekend will give us a more representative indication of how much progress we've made".

As always hoping Alonso to give the RBRs and Kimi a tough time and get back in the title race by narrowing the points gap.

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

Canada always throws up some great racing. This will be the 44th race at the fantastic Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and if recent history is anything to go by it should be a cracker.
This is a weak track for Red Bull - they might find it tougher to go for the win here as compared to tracks that suit the RB9 better. If it's a dry race, I'm expecting Lotus to be strong because the track is grainier here than at most other circuits.
If it's wet though, all bets are off!

This is a grand prix that's being hosted under a cloud in more ways than one though. Red Bull and Ferrari have both launched formal protests against Mercedes for a violation of the in-season testing ban. Waiting to see how that pans out. I've got nothing against Mercedes, but what they did was a clear infringement of the rules.

Oh joy : /
I look forward to this race though. Canada seems to bring surprises every now and then. I'm personally unsure if FI will be as good as in previous races. Fingers crossed for high temp and high deg.

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

Adolf Hitler plans to attend the Canadian GP to punch Perez in the face:

I couldn't stop laughing.....

And if there's anyone hitting the Wall of Champions this time... It will be Grosjean!

As usual it will be Mercedes pole but I suspect a Red Bull 1-2 with Alonso taking the remaining spot... Assuming Benz has not learned much from the secret tyre testing.

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

Canada is long straights and tight corners with a very high wear on tyres and brakes. Its kind of a bogey track for RBR. This is more about mechanical grip than aero. Its going to be super soft and medium.

If Merc wins here, we will know for a fact that, they gained a real good advantage from those in-season tyre tests at Spain. And Lewis is pretty strong here.

It will be Grosjean !!! ( I think he is a double GP2 champion)

He doesnt have anyone new to drive into.

I think the race is going to make the Pirellis go like shredded mozarella / bread crumbs whichever way you see it. Marbles near the wall of champions is not going to make life easy for the guys either. Still watching the blue waters on HD is a treat (like the ones in Monaco, In Monaco you do have other distractions though )

My money is on Seb with Nico behind him.

It used a be a favorite hangout spot for Alexander Wurz. My candidates are:

1. Perez.
2. Button.
3. Massa.
These are the 'un-obvious' choices - good or above-average drivers in good or above-average cars.

More likely candidates would be the rookie backmarkers in less-than-perfect machinery - Chilton / Giedo / Pic, etc. At least one of them should wind up in the Champions Wall at some point during the weekend.

+1 mate. Considering getting a tata sky HD box just so that I can record all races and watch them after everyone has gone off to bed

This is turning out to be an intriguing season what with all the tyre issues and secret tests and what have you

I think Mercedes will underplay whatever they have learned from the practice so as not to make it so obvious.

Ferrari's will have a hard time, hope Alonso is back in his form for Canada.

Re: 2013 F1 - Canadian Grandprix

The Kimi-Perez incident is still simmering. This one from Checo is actually quite nice:

From ESPNF1:

Perez added that he felt the criticism he is receiving is partly due to him being a McLaren driver.
"For sure, if you look at my race last year in Monaco I started last and I did maybe five or six moves at the chicane and nobody commented on those. So I think when you are at McLaren the spotlight is on you, people are commenting a lot on what you do right, what you do wrong, so I think you get more attention."

I just hope it rains well in Canada and all of us can be treated to some superb racing !
