Re: 2013 F1 - Santander British Grand Prix @ Silverstone

What a drive by Hamilton and DiResta, I hope FI and Paul don't screw up tomorrow, what an opportunity they have in front of them!

I feel sad for Alonso.... he's got a long way to go tomorrow :(

Re: 2013 F1 - Santander British Grand Prix @ Silverstone

Qualifiers Top 10:
1.Lewis Hamilton
2.Nico Rosberg
3.Sebastian Vettel
4.Mark Webber
5.Paul di Resta
6.Daniel Ricciardo
7.Adrian Sutil
8.Romain Grosjean
9.Kimi Raikkonen
10.Fernando Alonso

Very disappointing for a Ferrari fan.
I just wonder when will I get to see the front grid taken up by the two Ferraris which RBR and Mercedes have managed couple of times till now!
Can only keep my fingers crossed for a good finish for Alonso.

Depressing Quali. Ferrari really need to pull up their socks on Sat, title chances seem to be fading away. Dont understand why Pirelli softened the tires this year, only to change the tire choice for a harder set.

Stonker of a lap from Lewis. Wonder if this is the start of him stamping his authority over Nico, atleast in Quali.

Dang, Ferrari has gone backwards :(

Anyone wants to bet on a champion from the silver arrows this year? They have the fastest car this year and the tyre puzzle seem to have been solved with pole positions almost at every race.

Rosberg showed brilliant pace in the long runs during FP, the silver arrows might run away with a 1-2 tomorrow!

Re: 2013 F1 - Santander British Grand Prix @ Silverstone

I was coming here to give my predictions assuming RBR and Ferrari would be on top but now I'm just not sure.
I really don't know Mercedes race pace in the dry post tyregate, haven't really watched any FPs hence analysed Merc long run pace, anyone do comment if knowledgeable on the same. If it's solid I don't see why one of the Mercs wouldn't be in the top 2.
Fi looking strong! Earlier I had felt Fi would land anywhere positions 5-8. I would like to think one of the Fi's should finish POS 4-6 now and possibly a podium if luck is on their side. I think Paul Di Resta could be fired up this being his home race etc.
Now, Predictions barring first lap incidents:

1.) HAM
2.) VET
3.) ROS

- - - - - -
4.) DIR
5.) ALO

As expected Mercedes guys are becoming the qualifying specialist now. But I am quite sure to see redbull overtaking them in first few starting lap of the race. Go vettel go

Re: 2013 F1 - Santander British Grand Prix @ Silverstone

Excellent quali from the Mercs today, as usual.
But, Hamilton was on a completely different level on his final lap. 0.45 ahead of Rosberg and 0.6 ahead of Vettel!!

And, now that I was getting a bit happy about FI's excellent quali performance, news coming up that Paul's car is turning up 1.5 kg underweight.

The normal penalty is disqualification from the race and sending to the back of the grid, which I think is probably going to happen.

Hoping for an exciting race for tomorrow evening!

Re: 2013 F1 - Santander British Grand Prix @ Silverstone

Confirmed
Paul Di Resta has been sent to the back of the grid.

This is extremely sad, the one season FI has had a good car right from the start of the season they are constantly messing up : (.

Re: 2013 F1 - Santander British Grand Prix @ Silverstone

If I am not terribly mistaken, I think Adrian has got a potential chance at a podium finish if things go right ?

What a pathetic team Force India is making themselves to be though -- the one year they have a competitive car -- they F it all up with human error. Wheel nuts, long pit stops, horrible strategy, etc... You'd have to assume someone was planted in that team to sabotage it.

Poor paul, what a heartbreak it must be for him.

Re: 2013 F1 - Santander British Grand Prix @ Silverstone

Very interesting point to note folks

Alonso is the only one in the top 10 who used hard rubber for qualifying while everyone else used medium

Looks like there is more than what meets the eye

Cheers

Tyre bursts everywhere.
Hamilton and massa down but not yet out.

Omg. Daniel Ricardo has a tyre burst too.
Left rear tyre is a nightmare today.

Pirelli takes its revenge!!
Take us to the tribunal and we'll give you exploding tyres !
No race without tyres.

Jokes apart.
This is really bad publicity for Pirelli. Beats the whole objective of them being in F1.
