2013 F1 - Belgian Grand Prix @ Spa-Francorchamps

What a long mid-season Holiday. Just cant wait to see how the second half of the season unfolds. Dont want to predict anything as of now, but RBR and Vettel still the team to Beat. Force India seems to be loosing its fine streak in the recent races. Lotus and Kimi are brilliant but not spectacular. Mercedes AMG are infact showing few spurts of brilliance. Ferrari and Mclaren can write off the season as they dont seem to go anywhere.

That was such a long break, thankfully F1 is back this weekend

Spa is my most favorite track of the year, always throws up some interesting racing, and strategy.

Hopefully Mercedes' form continues and there will be some exciting battles between them, Lotus and Red Bull and maybe Ferrari.

Looking forward to the race weekend!

Spa carries a lot of bitter memories from last year, Grosjean became the most hated driver in Spain!

Really looking forward to the weekend.. August is one long month.
Rain forecast for sunday too.

May the games resume.

Spa reminds me of Mika's pass on Schumi as the two of em come up on Zonta (who isn't on the lead lap). This was in '00 if memory serves.

Here's to this edition being as exciting !

P.S: Here's the move I'm referring to:

Star Sports listing doesn't seem to have practice sessions for today and tomorrow. Any other channel telecasting it?

Welcome back F1 and Pavan after the hiatus!

Boy, the lull was terrible and fans like us got nothing except to watch old races on the net and read more on the silly season. Bleak times for the true fans !!

Hope Kimi is better now after calling in "sick"..

Looks like we have a bit of tyre trouble for Spa like Silverstone. Bulls look strong but expecting a strong weekend from Lewis.

Also, I hope to not hear about wind-tunnel calibration issues after the race.

Here is a great shot of Eau Rouge from FP.

Redbulls look very quick in Spa.
Webber is very close to Vettel. It would be a shame if Webber's car develop some technical and electrical gremlins today in Qualifying as it has happened many times over the years.

Re: 2013 F1 - Belgian Grand Prix @ Spa-Francorchamps

The Pirelli tires are once again in the headlines for the wrong reasons following two failures in practice at Spa.

Red Bull duo Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso from Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes as well as McLaren's Jenson Button are among a group of drivers who have expressed concern after problems on Friday.

Vettel and Alonso both suffered blowouts and the drivers have demanded reassurances that there will be no repeat for the rest of the weekend.

Was fun watching Practice 3... Did you guys notice lots of right front tyre lock ups on Turn 1?

I wonder how it is going to be on the raceday.

What an amazing qualifying, till last minute I thought the gamble worked out well for di resta, but amazing drive by vettel, Webber, hamilton and rosberg. They were literally flying, in last lap.

Really, I think this was one of the best qualifying so far, I just love f1 more when it rains. I have a gut feeling that, tomorrow my boy will win.

Go vettel go

Too bad for force India. But hey, Hamilton on pole again!!

That second to last lap by Nico was amazing, though.

Re: 2013 F1 - Belgian Grand Prix @ Spa-Francorchamps

What an absolutely insane qualifying session!

Marussia and Caterham's strategy in Q1 was awesome, caught quite a few people out.

di Resta seemed almost certain to be on pole, but the track dried out so fast, fantastic laps from HAM, VET and WEB. ROS was just flying from the start, but did not cross the chequered flag at the right time.

Should be an interesting race tomorrow with Alonso and Raikkonen both at the tail end of the Top 10.

Re: 2013 F1 - Belgian Grand Prix @ Spa-Francorchamps

Totally gutted for Paul.. thought that shrewd strategy by Force India meant PDR had pole on lock and was set to make the 2009 Fisichella Spa lap seem like a replay.

I still can't believe how quick fortunes can change in quali due to the weather..pretty incredible!

Also,
I think this race could be a crucial decider for Alonso and Ferrari. This could be a championship tilting point...... Vettel has to not finish the race tomorrow in order to level the field for Alonso.

There is still a huge deficit that Alonso must fill in the void for. I wonder when fortunes will change for Red Bull ?
