My god the bulls are unstoppable. I had a feeling they would be in monza after last races performance where they ran a skinnier wing and did well.
That RB is producing so much downforce they could probably run it minus rear wing! Ha!

Joking aside though Im beginning to think unless Vettel gets a DNF this years championship has been wrapped up.

Interesting to see both the Lotus cars recording the exact same time!

Title #4 looks like a certainty. The Vettel - Red Bull combo is just perfect. Just hope Alonso, Hamilton or Raikkonen run Vettel close. The sport shouldn't be boring. Even Spa was pretty boring this year. Never thought I'd say that.

By the looks of it, only rain can prevent Vettel from taking P1. With most of the teams shifting their efforts to the 2014 car, it looks like Redbull and Vettel are going to win the title on a canter. Yawn...

Once again it's Vettel on pole. Kimi and Hammy didn't make it to Q3. Starting grid (top ten) is as follows.

2 Webber AUS Red Bull 1'23.968
3 Hülkenberg GER Sauber 1'24.065
4 Massa BRA Ferrari 1'24.132
5 Alonso ESP Ferrari 1'24.142
6 Rosberg GER Mercedes 1'24.192
7 Ricciardo AUS Toro Rosso 1'24.209
8 Perez MEX McLaren 1'24.502
9 Button GBR McLaren 1'24.515
10 Vergne FRA Toro Rosso 1'28.050

Re: 2013 F1 - Italian Grand Prix @ Monza

The fact that a Ferrari press team member asked the TV guys not to approach Luca Montezemolo after qualifying says much about this.

Lame approach by Hamilton to try to push his short-comings on to Adrian Sutil ! He has (in theory at least) just waved any hope of championship contending bye-bye !

Vettel will win the WDC this year (in theory at least) by India or Korea -- the Red Bull is far too superior.

What a stonker of a lap by Hulkenberg though -- Luca should look at him as a Massa replacement ! That lap was a very good way to shut up all the supporters of Sirotkin's Russian Oligarch money.

One of the guys that should NOT be dropped next season is Hulkenberg. I always knew he had that extra talent, especially when he shined in GP2.

Re: 2013 F1 - Italian Grand Prix @ Monza

Horrible quali strategy by Ferrari, why try something that they have never been successful with? Damn shame. P3 was easily done and with Webber's history of poor starts Alonso would have looked really good for P2 by T1. Shocking call.

Mega lap by the Hulk. Sutil blocked Hamilton on purpose.

Are you serious ? The car seemed to be off anyway since the slide into the run-off area on the parabola ?

Re: 2013 F1 - Italian Grand Prix @ Monza

RBR are on a league of their own in qualifying!

Looks like we'll see 3 groups by lap 10 or so -
VET, WEB, ALO running away
MAS, HUL, ROS in their own battle
a huge train forming behind the remaining group

Would be interesting to see if HAM, RAI and GRO starts the race on hard tyres and tries a different strategy instead of getting held up behind the McLarens and Toro Rossos. Will be difficult to overtake all of them without ruining the tyres.

Think you havent seen the replay we all saw. There was no slide..it was very apparent Sutil braked hard into parabolica and slowed considerably while hamilton was approaching, neither car went off.
This resulted in Hamilton being 3-4 tenths off the pace in the 1st sector for his final lap which he aborted.

Incident is being investigated, quite sure Sutil will get a penalty.

I don't recollect the exact definition for the rule but if I remember correctly, penalty is for impeding a driver on a flying lap. Technically, Hamilton was yet to start the flying lap and hence I'm not sure if Sutil might get penalized.

Also, since Sutil qualified behind Hamilton, penalty for Sutil is not going to make any difference for Hamilton.

Re: 2013 F1 - Italian Grand Prix @ Monza

Vettel got pole as expected.

Hulkenberg was just awesome, punching way above the car's weight.

Hamilton's quali was disappointing although some of it was to blame to Sutil, who is getting a 3-place grid penalty.

Epic fail of the Ferrari slip streaming strategy today.

Toro Rossos look really strong here.

Re: 2013 F1 - Italian Grand Prix @ Monza

One of the funniest things I just heard is Lewis performed badly in Quali on purpose and in exchange got MUCH richer thanks to a certain energy drink manufacturing company !

I don't know where people even come up with these!

Looks like too much influence from cricket and spot fixing. Next you are probably going to hear additional 'proof' like Hamilton tearing down a visor cover at a specific point to indicate he is going to do it deliberately blah blah..
