Re: 2013 - Korean Grand Prix

Not really interested anymore. More likely it will be another Vettel win. He has almost sealed the drivers championship.

Don't know why I didn't hate Schumacher's dominance this much.

Re: 2013 - Korean Grand Prix

Engineer: "Are you ok?"
Kimi: "Yes"
Engineer: "What happened?"
Kimi "I hit the wall"
That's cleared that up...

Re: 2013 - Korean Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton sets FP1 pace as Raikkonen crashes. Hamilton posted 1:39.630 to beat championship leader Sebastian Vettel by 0.037s, although the Red Bull driver had all the fastest sectors of the session. Kimi crashed heavily at the final corner, causing heavy damage to his car.

Top 10:

1. Lewis Hamilton: 1:39.630
2. Sebastian Vettel: +0.037
3. Mark Webber: +0.186
4. Nico Rosberg: +0.487s
5. Jenson Button: +0.585s
6. Fernando Alonso: +0.744s
7. Romain Grosjean: +0.766s
8. Kimi Raikkonen: +1.047s
9. Sergio Perez: +1.230s
10. Felipe Massa: +1.250s

Mercedes looks quick. Hope Lewis gets pole ahead of Vettel. Will be a cracker of a race if Seb isnt allowed to run away at the start.

Impossible. Webber has a 10 place grid penalty!

Re: 2013 - Korean Grand Prix

No matter how fast the Mercedes is in qualifying, it all boils down to race pace.

After looking at the Red Bull's pace through Spa, Monza, Singapore, it is very hard to believe that their race pace can be beaten by the Mercedes, which has always been very hard on its tires. Even if it rains, the Merc is no match for the Red Bull. That car has got some serious potential, not to forget a very capable driver at the helm as well. Considering that the circuit is a bit like Suzuka when it comes to tire wear, even if Hamilton gets on pole and starts off well, it wont be long before the bulls have got him.

Graining can be an issue in Korea, particularly in the low-grip conditions at the start of the weekend. The aerodynamic set-up adopted for Korea by the teams is quite similar to Japan, with medium to high levels of downforce. However, the traction demands are much higher than in Japan. The front-right tire is worked hardest at this track. All this considered, I don't see how any Mercedes can outpace a Red Bull this Sunday. I would LOVE to be proved wrong though

God, my post makes me sound like such a Red Bull/Vettel fanboy lol. I guess this year is another WDC in Vettel's kitty. Hope 2014 season can throw some fight to RBR. Sigh

Re: 2013 - Korean Grand Prix

I'm losing interest in F1. Too much dominance by RB/Vettel. Had it not been for some great driving by Alonso, Kimi and Mercedes, I would have stopped watching F1. But, always hoping for Alonso to create fireworks.

Re: 2013 - Korean Grand Prix

Hamilton stayed on top in FP2 as well. Sebastian Vettel was 0.108 seconds down on Hamilton in second place with Nico in 3rd down by 0.016s.

Webber was 4th, Massa 5th and Alonso in 7th with Grosjean in between them. Kimi was 8th.

Missed the qualifying, as I don't have both the channels. What about the race day tomorrow? Same channels?

Re: 2013 - Korean Grand Prix

Vettel again on pole. Hamilton in second spot. Webber will drop to 13th due to the penalty. Grosjean 3rd and Rosberg 4th. Alonso in 5th and Massa 6th.

Vettel aborted his final lap.
