Not really a fan of Vettel. Actually I hated the man till he decided to come in front of the Grand Stand and do this..

Re: 2013 - Indian Grand Prix @ Buddh International Circuit

Did anyone else observe that during the post race interviews (particularly the Christian Horner interview) that a lot of people were crowding around the cameras trying to get themselves on international television. Very Indian of us I have not seen such things happening at other Grand Prixs

Re: 2013 - Indian Grand Prix @ Buddh International Circuit

Though I am not in favour of the result of the GP. Have to give it to Vettel, he doesnt seem like a 26 yr old with just 5-6 yrs of F1 racing experience. Cool, Calm and composed are bywords for Vettel. He really stuck it in the oppositions nose and showed them who is boss.

Loved the post race celebrations as well. Found it a bit risky to climb the steel mesh and throw a glove. After 2-3 hours of intense driving, the body would be a bit woozy. Was a bit concerned if it may turn into a foolish accident. I guess RBR must have written to the FIA about the 25,000 debit note.

Spicy radio message exchange between Alan Permane and Kimi Raikkonen. Like the others, I feel Lotus could have handled that better.

Sad to see the Indian GP go away. Im not too hopeful of a calendar position in 2015. The new GP's would be more than pleased to cough up the extra $$$ and take the slot away from Buddh. Namely Austria, New Jersey and Russia.

I do hear they are trying to slot in the Indian GP on the Moto GP calendar.

I think the problem next year is that Jaypee Group is not doing that great financially, having got into huge infrastructural projects in India at a time when the economy is not doing too great.

And there are huge fees to be paid to be able to host a F1 race, and Jaypee is having to cough up a lot of taxes to be able to hold the race as well.

I think Jaypee will be out of their financial troubles by 2015, allowing them to return to F1. From the largely unambiguous statements coming out of the FMSCI and BIC, I think F1 will make a return here.

As for the side of F1, ie FIA, FOM and FOTA etc, all of them will want to be in India, simply because its great for the sponsors. As long as there is someone ready to host a race in India with suitable facilities, they will come.

In fact hopefully, this breather will allow the BIC authorities to work out all the background kinks, like taxes, visas, import issues etc etc in a less time sensitive manner. I also hope, the new govt after next year's election, will also take a different tack and see that holding an F1 race and other international racing events in India can be a positive force for the economy and not just a source of infinite taxes.

Hopefully the FIA/FOM too can make a more significant positive contribution to India as well. For three years they came and talked about the contrast, but havnt done anything major yet. For example the FIA has one of the largest road safety initiatives in the world. But we dont yet see its presence in a country which registers the largest number of deaths on the road in the world. Honestly I am a bit disappointed with some of the biggest private enterprises of the world coming to India as sponsors but not taking the opportunity to do pursue any significant CSR activities.

Kimi's tires were all out by that time and he was barely able to handle the car. That's why he dropped from #3 to #7.
Still, he managed to clock the fastest lap after the last-lap pit stop.

Rosberg overtook Kimi for P2 a few laps before Grosjean's pass on Kimi. He definitely had better tyres during Rosberg's pass when compared to Grosjean's pass, but he didn't try to defend his position when Rosberg passed. With a fully worn tyre, the last thing he should have done was to get away from the cleaner racing line. Looks like he didn't learn from last year's Chinese GP where he lost all those positions just because he tried to defend his position from Vettel and ran over the marbles with a worn tyre.

No one else was on faster soft compound during the last couple of laps, when the fuel load is minimum and the track temp is at its max. So the fastest lap was bound to come from Kimi unless he encountered traffic during the last lap, which was also unlikely since most cars were on lead lap at the end of the race and just a couple of cars were lapped.

Yeah, just as Sachin kissing his bat or helmet, makes it all about the bat or helmet.

Not just that, when Newey was talking to WillBuxton of NBC the guy standing behind Newey,in his over exuberance to have his photo clicked with him, passed his camera right in front of Newey's face to his friend standing on the other side. All this when the interview was On Live.Newey was startled bit,but just smiled and continued with the interview
